I applied to the SEO Program this year and got a phone screen interview within 2 weeks of sending my application. I do not know if SEO-U influenced their screening decision.

I think I was better prepared for the interviews since I learned more about SEO.

SEO-U is a great program. I would definitely recommend it to any freshmen who wants to apply to SEO’s Career Program next year.

Thank you for the answers. I think I’m going to go ahead and do SEO-U for this coming summer after my freshman year.

Do you know if SEO admits many sophomores into their career program? I’m wondering if they prefer that applicants wait until their junior years to complete internships since it’s the optimal time to receive a job offer.

My best friend applied last year as a sophomore; he interned with GS in their GIR department; he got an extended internship offer from GS for this upcoming summer. I would recommend applying for SEO-U this year and applying to the SEO Program as a sophomore.

FOLOW THE MARKETS STARTING NOW, and extend your network. I have been talking to someone from SEO since the summer and she has helped me ALOT! She helped me with my resume and she gave me a zillion tips on how to have a successful interview (make sure you are polite). Talk to SEO alumni, and remember FOLOW THE MARKETS. My phone-screen interview was very technical; they asked me questions regarding current events and my opinion on the markets. My in-person interview was more on the behavioral side, but I tried to make it as technical as I could since I think that is my strong side (I tried to give as much info on my favorite stock OptionsXpress OXPS).

Read the WSJ; I use the Dow Jones News Wire Streaming News, Reuters, Bloomberg, and the S&P stock-specific reports. Also know several stocks back and forth (Pick about 5 stocks and follow about 10-15). I have been trading stocks and options for about 2 years. If you have any questions regarding the market PM me your e-mail and I will answer any questions.

They are looking for someone who is polite, knowledgeable, helps others, and most importantly someone who is coachable.

You seem polite, your interest in SEO makes me feel you are definitely coachable, now just learn learn and learn.

how to apply as a freshman? I click on apply now, and i have already begun my application. The application type is SEO-U. However, when I am up to program preferences, i don’t know which one to select …

I had my in-person interview for Investment Banking several weeks back and I have not heard back yet, has anybody heard back from the IB division?

looking at different forums around the internet, i’ve noticed a lot of people were accepted this week/next week and then toward the end of january. another big round of candidates was accepted mid feb and late feb.

most people heard back around a month after their in-person.

i heard back like five days after my in person for a follow up interview it was on december 11, after that, i haven’t heard back, but they told me i would hear back after mid january

Does anyone know if SEO at least sends you some sort of rejection e-mail after the in-person interview?
I mean it makes sense not to get one after submitting your app and the phone screen, but not after making to the in-person.

A1, last year a lot of people on CC who were rejected heard nothing until late feb. I think everyone is in the running until all the spots are filled.

it may take awhile to hear back. a ton of people apply to this program.

@lil, i aplied first round and already had my in-person

I know its easier said than done but I think we should breathe for a moment. None of us have been contacted by SEO yet. That could mean they have not contacted other applicants either. I think we are still in the game so let’s enjoy our winter break (or what is left of it).

Seo’s website says that first round applicants will hear back sometime in Jan. we still have 20 more days.
