Official September 2013 ACT Science Thread

Rate of o2 formed. Oxygen was product

what do you guys think the curve will be? I’m hoping that -4 will be a 33. I found the reading section a whole lot easier than science (I ran out of time)

I’m thinking the curve will be -1 = 34 and -2 = 33. I’d be ecstatic with a slightly more generous curve, but personally I felt this science test was one of the easiest I’ve taken.

what was the 1000 bp RE 3 RE 1 question where it asked for the distance or something

1000 cut by two places or something?

Definitely an easy science section. -1 = 34, -2 = 33 or -1 = 35, -2 = 33. But i flew through it with no problems.

Wow I ran out of time and I usually never do

ya, that one

I don’t why but all the passages were easy (even the 3 students one if you took ap bio) but the one with the phosphorus I thought was the hardest, I ended up guessing on 2-3 of them and I just want to check if I got them

For the stimulated rain question, was it so the P compound would increased or some clouds density would increase.
I think I at first said the P compound but something in the passage made me. Change my mind.

The last question of that passage which answer choice did you guys get? I don’t remember the question and the answers were the name of the fertilizers.

And lastly why was the mixture shaken for 24 hours? I think I put so the absorbed particles would become devolved

what a brutal science section for the ages.
you know it was a tough section when nobody on cc is posting on here.
this had to be the hardest science section from the past two years.
my god

Is that sarcasm?

The 24 hours one was so that it the absorbed particles could dissolve or something like that. All I know is, in the passage it mentioned desorbing the particles so they could dissolve, something around the lines of that.

I thought water had to do with dissolving phosphorus as well.

@jy2013
no it’s not sarcastic. It was a brutal science section, I think most people would agree.

@sillup20
Ok my bad i just thought you were sarcastic because everyone in this topic has said it was easy so far

@jy2013
notice how the science thread only has 4 pages of posts :stuck_out_tongue:
also, what will -9 get me on today’s test? a 27 at least?

Most CCers are in the top 1-2%.
They don’t always give the best perspectives into the ACT.

But congratulations on all the studying that made you perform so well on the science section!

it was O2 broken down

No… The rate of reaction of h202 break down can be seen with the formation of 02…

Formation of O2…
