Official Spring 2012 Cornell Transfer Thread

I didn’t - in CALS? As a business major, there was nothing else there that I wanted to apply to except for AEM. Hmm didn’t really think about having a backup. Internal transfer is hard as hell! Thanks for the support, here’s to hoping we’re both studying at Uris next semester.

I tied in my political internships with an interest in PAM.
But when I copied and pasted my essays, a minor typo was created in an essay. I feel like an idiot now…

I’m dyin here, I hope we found out like in the next 2 weeks.

I hear ya, we should.

Do they notify us online or physical mail?

Snail mail… Honestly, they could notify via sky writing - I just want to know!

visiting ithaca these days. The CALS admissions told me spring transfer applicants would be informed in mid-December.

@zchalfen, are you sure? According to their website, its 4-6 weeks after the deadline (Oct. 3).

deadhead654, not sure about the date, but the only thing i’m pretty sure is that the admissions said so…

Thats insane.

Why do I feel like they say December to give themselves enough time for November, especially since last year’s Spring transfer group were notified in early/mid November.

Maybe you’re right, but there’s no way I’m willing to accept it - for my sanity’s sake.

probably those who get notification in mid december are the last who have been admitted.

I’m eager to know the result too…

I submitted my app on Sept 2, the second day that Cornell was accepting them. I had everything in before the Oct. 3rd deadline and about 6 days later my application was forwarded for review, so based upon their rolling admissions process, I’m hoping (praying) to be one of the first to know. Then comes the giant exhale.

good luck man, hoping you are the first being admitted.

Ha thanks man, then I’m hoping you are the second!

lol thanks, hope I’m the first one being admitted by the major I’m applying-biometry and statistics, a fairly small and less competitive program

actually Biometry and statistics is pretty competitive, at least that is what the admissions counselor told my son when he was rejected ED for the fall. Good luck!

Thanks, but the director of the department told me that they restrict the freshmen acceptance to 20% but that doesn’t apply to transfer. Hope your son will have an excellent college experience!

wow really? Do they mean 20% of the applicants for that specific major? Sucks for him though - my other son(who was accepted fall 2014) had a little higher GPA, lower SAT scores, roughly everything else the same - but applied to a different major.

yeah 20% of the applicants for the major. I guess there were something wrong with “fit” in his application essay and ECs.

I found out through Email for CALS then I got hard package
