***Official Stanford RD 2016 Applicants' Discussion Thread***

I submitted my application on 12/30, and just checked my application status and it says that my secondary school report and transcript have not yet been received. My counselor sent all that out in November, but by mail, so do you think it’s just that they haven’t matched the paper materials to my electronic file?

Or since it was sent so long ago, it should be already filed by now…

Wait a bit or send my materials again?

Wait a little, I applied early and my transcript was sent months early but it still took them a couple of months after the deadline for them to process it

Thanks aeropromaster :)

i took a very different approach to my essays. my intellectual vitality one was on the met’s savage beauty exhibit, and my roommate one was a bit more lighthearted and made jokes about I Love Lucy and my obsessive compulsive tendencies. i guess since i’m going for art it’s a little different than the essays for people interested in science and math.

Anyone else have dreams about college apps/decision letters? LOL

Yes!! I always fantasize about opening my email lol. I already told my friends “On that day, if i dont say anything by midnight, assume I’ve been rejected and don’t bother me with questions” lol.

I had this dream I received all these giant envelopes from different schools and I was like OMG!!! But they were just huge letters about supplementary materials :frowning: LOL

aww. I’ve actually thought about how I’ll handle a rejection too lol.

Hi everyone! Quick question, I applied to Stanford RD on d-day (01/01) and have sent all my transcripts and SAT scores to them, yet every time I check the Axess site, I get a message saying that my email address cannot be found.

Should I be worried about this? All the other colleges I’ve applied to on the Common App have sent me their logins and ID’s, its just Stanford that’s giving a bit of trouble…

did you possibly use a different address? check your common app to see what email addy is on there. you may have mistyped it? have you gotten any correspondencee from Stanford since applying?

No correspondence at all so far. Now that I say it I’m starting to get worried…

Checked my email both the Common App and Stanford Supplement and both are correct.

Maybe contact them? I got the email regarding AXESS on January 7th, the “we have received your application” email on the 5th, and I submitted my application December 31st, so only one day earlier.

Does anybody else have counselors who send in school reports through snail mail? If so, has Stanford identified those materials as credentials received?

My counselor sent my stuff out mid-November, but Stanford still says they haven’t received it. They’re still in the process of sorting stuff through though - so I’m not sure if they just haven’t matched it to my application or if it got lost in the mail. I want to send it in again ASAP if it indeed was lost, but Stanford won’t be notifying applicants about missing materials until way later… and that makes me nervous :frowning: “It may take weeks…” says their answering machine.

Don’t worry, AforAmbition. Once they sort through the huge piles of documents and match everything they have up with the files, they will give anyone who is missing any items a couple of weeks to get those items resubmitted. So you don’t need to do anything until then (other than maybe let your counselor know that there is a possibility you may request a resubmission in a few weeks, so he or she is ready to go if the need arises). There’s truly an unbelievable amount of stuff to go through and collate during the RD round, and they have people working very long hours to get it done. Good luck to everyone!

I was lucky enough to be admitted in through EA this year and I was just wondering how difficult it would be to do a double major in Human Bio and PoliSci…

I know that HumBio requires 87 units, and PoliSci 70, but with Gen Eds and other factors, how difficult would this be?

^^
Ignore my post, I posted in the wrong thread :p

Thanks zenkoan! Funny thing… it had still said those things weren’t received, so I went ahead and printed everything out again and got the big envelope ready with mailing labels to give my counselor tomorrow. Then when I checked Axess, it said everything’s been received. I felt 10% trolled into wasting ink and paper but mainly 90% relieved that they have everything

Now it’s just truly time to wait… I do hope this is a happy thread for us in 2.5 months! Fingers crossed for everyone.

Hey, everyone! Another RD applicant here:) Stanford makes no mistakes; best of luck to all of us! <2.5months left

So I’m gonna whine for a second lol. I have 2 C’s this semester. My very first Cs sigh. In AP Calc and AP Bio!!! A math and a science class!!! This is the death of me!! The murder!!! My hope has completely been diminished of getting in to not only Stanford, but other colleges(the safeties too gasp!). It’s not because I stopped caring, it’s because of parents’ diagnosis with an illness. but blah blah blah I’m sure many other students have parents with cancer and still get straight A’s :frowning:

Okay I’m done with my little sad, pathetic, and dramatic story. Moving on. Good luck to all!!

Neuroscience1234, I’m sure they’ll understand and take it into consideration though. I hope things get better for you at home. Best of luck :)
