*Official* Stanford REA 2015 Applicants' Discussion Thread

I listen to almost everything, but (yes you’ve guessed it) I am inclined towards heavy genres of music.

I love Nightwish, and Cradle of Filth.

Wulfran- me and you are about to get into it :wink:
crmichi- What are you even talking about? I’m confused about like 4 different things in that post alone. :P

I’m a dirty dubstep fan. If you guys want to hear some cool music:

I love symphonic metal :smiley: don’t get to hear so much of it, though.

@courtney: what’s confusing you

@courtneyenpointe

fight!! fight!! fight !! (jk :p)

Classical music is amazing. I really like a lot of Chopin’s Nocturnes, as well as Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, and Liszt. Schubert and Mendelssohn aren’t bad either :p

Jack Johnson, Bob Marley, Yo-Yo Ma, Norah Jones, Nickelback, Coldplay, and a few others

huuuge Vivaldi fan

@ Harambee: You just reminded me – how could I forget COLDPLAY! :D

it just takes some “music” to keep everyone rolling xD

I love Vivaldi too!

YAY ALL CLASSICAL GEEKS UNITE!

Chopin and Rachmaninoff are my two favorite composers of all time. Chopin Scherzi & Etudes, and Rach’s Etude-tableux and piano concerti…ahhh. :]

Saint-Saens is also amazing.
And Ravel. Ravel’s pieces are very fun to play!

I am sleepy. Will return in around 4 - 5 hours. :)

Add me to the Vivaldi train!

EVERYTHING. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself? You missed that part of the thread, and I feel like I need to know a little bit about you to make sense of your posts in my head :)

Ohhh, I’m really sorry, yeah I’m kinda late to this whole CC trend.
I’m a thriving Hispanic/Euro-mutt female born and raised in Miami, FL. I’m a pisces, enjoy all sorts of music besides the top 100 (unless I heard of it before iTunes did), play soccer and volleyball, abhor the idea of Greek Life, manage my own art and music blog, and am applying to the following schools:

Stanford
UC- Berk
UC- Santa Barbara
Georgetown
Johns Hopkins
NYU
Rice
USC
GWU
UVA

I’m a legacy kid at Stanford, and am currently typing up my “Why Stanford” essay, in other words, I have major writer’s block. (hence why I’m posting)

– anything else y’all are curious about?

Are legacies helpful at Stanford?

Also, Wulfran, this fight is not forgotten :wink: If we both happen to get into Stanford, expect for me to tackle you to the ground and punch you a few times ;)

Legacy basically anywhere should be helpful, unless those legacy members did something awful to the school/dropped out
