@Adodie I totally agree… I have relatives that are very strong duck fans, and they are crushed… But I’m still glad we won and have a shot at the Pac-12 championship. My parents said if I get into Stanford and Stanford gets into the Rose Boel then we’ll go to the game!! Fingers crossed haha :)

Okay… the pac-12 championship will be CRAZY in my house. Dad’s a Stanford alum, mom’s a die-hard Bruin alum (UCLA)! What a fun game that will be!

I feel like there are going to be a bunch more applicants this year cause of stanford being good at football. I think that’ll make a bunch of mediocre sports fans apply and the acceptance rate will be like 5%. I’m callin it!

^lol. hopefully not; it’s usually around like 12-13% for SCEA.

So then if 6000 kids apply SCEA I only have to beat out like 5300 others? Oh that’s not thaaaaaat bad, right? Haha

Last year, Stanford accepted 755 students out of a 5880 SCEA pool. That’s about a 12.8% acceptance rate, so yes, you ONLY have to beat out about 5100 kids…

Any guesses how many of those 755 SCEA kids were recruited athletes and/or Questbridge?

I do not believe that information is publicly available. The only info I have seen in the Stanford freshman student profile is the SAT/ACT score range, percentage of minorities, and percentage of students who were first generation college.

@MomCares, I don’t know… But now I’m regretting not doing Questbridge when they gave me the chance! I just didn’t really understand it enough… But I’m hoping for the best either way!

Just noticed I misspelled “Bowl” in my last post! It’s because I was typing on a phone… Oops!

forgot to mention where else i’m applying:

Purdue
Georgia Tech
Northwestern

I narrowed down my list alot before application time, saves the parents money

Yeah, I know what you mean Chewey56. I feel bad – I want to apply to a ton of places, but I hate the application fees xD. Basically, I’m probably going to wait to actually “apply” to most places until I hear back from Stanford. I’ll finish up most of my apps before then, but, if I am lucky enough to get into Stanford, I probably just won’t send in my applications to my safety schools to save me the application fees.

Regardless of if I get in or not, I still would like to apply to HYP, Pomona, Northwestern, U Chicago, and Brown. I also am applying to UC Berkeley and UCLA. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Wow… for some reason I always assumed Oregon was an under-recruited state. There goes my hook.

@WhiteHouses, so did I! But maybe it’s good that a lot of people get accepted from here? idk haha

Man, so many people from Oregon, me too…

Very cool!

It’s weird. Honestly, I’ve always thought of Oregon as an academically noncompetitive state. At the very least, I can say that my area is pretty noncompetitive. What do all of you think about our state’s competitiveness?

@Adodie I haven’t actually attended a local high school in my area, so I couldn’t say about this part’s competitiveness for sure, but my general impression from middle school and just from local knowledge is that it’s not very competitive here either.

I think it depends which region/school you are in. I went to an academic camp with a girl who went to a really competitive/high ivy admit school in oregon. There are competitive and noncompetitive schools in every state, so you can’t extrapolate from just your school. California is the most highly represented and ranks among the lowest in education!

Up here in Northwest Oregon, my high school seems decently competitive, although of course I’m not terribly knowledgeable about how things are other places. I would imagine that it’d depend on where you live, with schools closer to Portland being more competitive. But idk.

Hey guys, did anyone get their Stanford University ID number? I wish to update my application and I found this form: [Optional Update Form : Stanford University](http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/extras/decision/optional_update/index.html)
It requires me to fill the Stanford ID no. Any suggestions? Is this ID no. the same as our CA ID? Thanks!
