Official Stanford SCEA 2017 Applicants' Discussion Thread

@ccuser95, i’m learning it for AP compsci, and somewhat stuck on recursion. xD

how do you think you’ll react as soon as you find out if youre accepted/rejected?

I think i’ll just be relieved either way. if im deferred, then i’ll be mad haha

Giuze, if it isn’t this Friday, after all of this anxiety, I might have to take the weekend off of work and spend it in LA. I hope my little old car can make it.

I will cry no matter what. That is what happens when you are an ENFJ. You cry a lot.

Also, I have a question that honestly doesn’t matter now, but I’m curious.
So my parents both went to Stanford and two of my grandparents went there as well. The grandpa thing, do you think that will add a little extra zing? Or do they only care about parents?

Guys guys guys we’re on page 69

Hi there I’m about 12 years old.

@Holocene - I know. I know. I can’t take this for another week.

@Aery
I totally feel you. My friends wonder why I’m so fixated on it and can’t get anything done. My grades are soooo sketch right now because I cannot get myself motivated for the life of me.

I will be crying all weekend. No matter what the decision is.

@stantheman, I’m glad you didn’t accidentally apply to Stratford. heh. But yeah! though I’d be honored to be deferred, it’d be so hellish to wait until April or March or whenever the next round comes out.

My midyear report is going to suck…My calc grade has dropped to an 89. I am definitely getting 2 Bs because I took two really hard upper level humanities courses, which are not my strength. If I can pull calc up, it will still be my lowest GPA ever, like 3.7/4.4 or something, but hopefully it won’t kill my chances everywhere because at least they are in nonmajor courses. If I get a B in calc doe…

@Iman. Me too, to an extent! Basically, I’m just never going to finish Paradise Lost. Lololol

I honestly think if I just knew if it was the 7th or the 14th I wouldnt be going so crazy… its the not knowing! I think I will feel a lot better this friday regardless because I will either have the decision or assume it is coming in a week.

@whitenumbers watch this, I think it’s relevant in this thread <a href=“Lecture 9 | Programming Abstractions (Stanford) - YouTube”>Lecture 9 | Programming Abstractions (Stanford) - YouTube;

BUT WE STILL WON’T KNOW THE DAY.

omg stanford why do you do this to us?

If I get in I will get a job in the admissions department and convince them that not telling us the day we will know is cruel and unusual punishment and should be halted immediately.

But maybe I’d want the little freshies to went through what I did…oh jeez now I understand what hazing is heheheheh

@chybby that’s a brilliant idea, and yes, relevant to the max!

hahaha I know why is Stanford so mean! LOL if you go on the colombia page its right there and easy to find: Early Decision on the 6th. Come on Stanford give us a freakin break!

Does anyone know what time they’ll announce that admissions will be released? Like at 9 in the morning? they’ll say that theyre releasing admissions later that day?

oh. GOT ACCEPTED…into Tulane lololollolol. But that’s kinda nice. If the world exploded right now, I could go to school. huzzah huzzah.

I still want you though, Stanford.

Yes. I think last year it was a bit before 9.

er. I’m so jumpy that I refreshed the page, saw MY OWN post, read the “GOT ACCEPTED”, thought I got accepted to Stanford, had a heart attack. facepalm
