@GlobalDolphin I have been waiting for their results to come out to do the same thing

What time will the announcement on Stanford’s website go up(eastern time zone)?

9ish PST, so 12ish EST.

so does that mean if decisions come out tomorrow it won’t be until 6 EST?

Whatever day they come out, it will be 6 EST.

Man here I’ve been thinking I’ll be able to check right after school at 3… oh well.

8 hours of sleep… over the past two days. Called Stanford today and said the deadline is for physical letters in people’s hands by the 15th. Has anyone considered that maybe it isn’t the 7th or 14th and maybe it could be the 12th or 11th?

And when will it be posted on the website that it is the day? the morning of?

Yeah. Very possible.

I’m considering calling them right now but honestly I don’t see a point. I know they won’t tell me.

We just got 4 into Columbia ED and 1 into Dartmouth ED!

wait if letters will arrive by 15th it should be before 14th at least

@tonystark: not necessarily. they could send out letters on like the 12th so that they arrive on the 15th, but not announce until the 14th.

So is it really going to be on the 7th you guys think? and what is the exact stat(like how many EA did they accept) stanford released on the november 26th?

I doubt they would do this. People would be getting admissions decisions sporadically. Palo Alto residents would know the next day, but people across the country would have to wait much longer.

I think the 15th is the last day they will mail them, not the last day they can be received…that would make more sense

what time does Stanford post on its website that they are making the decision on that day? around 9am PST? that’s what i’m hearing…

like i know that Stanford posts something on their admissions news site on the day they release decisions, "we will be releasing decisions at :_ pm today. if it is tomorrow, what time will stanford post that?

Seeing all the people get EDs today made things really real for me. I’m having a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that that could be me TOMORROW, or at the very least very soon.

EDIT: @jkivyleague - they said that they accepted “approximately 750” out of 6100 EA apps.

My head’s going to explode. I’m trying to use all my powers of logic to make sense of it all.

eaglesfandan was told “letters in hand” by the 15th? If so, that is a significant bit of information. The USPS says regular domestic mail takes from 2-9 days. If they want to ensure that almost all applicants receive it by the 15th they’d really have to mail it tomorrow. And if they want to make sure no one gets a letter before they get an e-mail, then they’d really have to release the e-mails tomorrow. Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps in this petty pace from day to day…

@socalpapa - love the Mac-ers reference! (superstitious theater kid here, not going to jinx my chances!)

^A bit of Shakespearean tragedy seemed appropriate under the circumstances.

I hope you stick with theater in college. I did and even though I didn’t pursue it as a career it has had a hugely positive impact on my life.

Hey everyone! I’ve been pretty much stalking this thread since september, and I read last year’s thread as well. Figured it was time to join in. Looking at last year’s thread, I noticed that people saw the press release from stanford on the admission news page at around 7:30, 8:00 am PST. If that helps at all. Good luck everyone! I’M FREAKING OUT.
