The feel when my mom says “You can always go to Pitt!!” <<<

Well, we are the same person.

Well, we are the same person.

@nygiants: Yeah, I agree. A Princeton rep spoke at my school and I was the only person interested so it was just a great conversation between us two and he told me that he hoped he would get to read my app but that there are a lot of people for my area. He sounded sincere.

@nygiants27 - yeah, it does suck, but at least we get reps coming to our school so we can meet them. our Stanford rep is apparently REALLY focused on essays, which is good since mine are great :)

Lol, that’s so interesting. My older brother goes to Cal and he ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOVVVESS it, everyone is nice, weather’s great, good academics, good people, stimulating, on the cutting edge, etc. It’s like Stanford’s little sister.

OUR SCHOOL HAS LIKE 70 people applying for Stanford…

^^That is HILARIOUS.

@ccuser95

LMAO

Alright, i’ve had my laugh for the night. Time for Econ!

jkIVYleague-sounds like my school -____- we have 349838420384 people applying for ivies/MIT/Stanford whooo partyyy

@harborceal: The Stanford rep never comes to our school! I don’t know why. We get a ton of great reps, just not Stanford.

It’s interesting. Coming from Oregon, I absolutely loved UC Berkeley. The city vibe was nice, the students seemed intelligent, and it would be really easy to get politically involved on campus (which I would enjoy since I am a political nerd). Though Stanford is definitely my first choice, I would still be very happy at Berkeley.

im the only one applying scea to stanford…but my class rank is terrible so im worried

@coffeeandtea - Same about the Stanford rep! we will get yale, harvard, etc but not stanford! SoCal discrimination.

Soo basically I’m a total nerd but I’ve read so many of those “ACEEPTED/R/D” posts before listing stats and people getting all emotional and stuff…and it honestly feels surreal as hell that that’s going to be US now. This hasn’t hit me yet.

Adodie-that’s basically the environment I’ve grown up in my whole life, so I feel like I want to escape it haha. For someone coming from a very different background, I can see how it would be appealing.

Man, I can feel the anxiety from this thread and I’m not even a SCEA applicant! Anyways, best of luck to you all and, if worst comes to worst, just remember that college is what YOU make of it, not what it makes of you. :)

Talking about competitive in my class of 123 we already have 10 kids committed to ivy league schools

“worst comes to worst”

You mean like… UCSD O.o

Not feelin’ the hate on Berkeley.

I’m like the only one from my large public high school applying SCEA to Stanford. I’m from NJ and am planning on falling back on a full ride and honors program to Rutgers if I do not get into any top tier universities. Hopefully the deadline is tomorrow though, this wait is killer.
