Everyone–don’t worry. The admissions office knows what it’s doing, and will process everything as quickly as it can. In the rare event that something is missing from a student’s application file, they will give you an opportunity to re-submit it. So, take it easy and keep yourself busy with other things for the next six weeks or so. Good luck to all SCEA applicants.

Thanks, zenkoan Yeah, pitabread78, my supp says submitted but my app says downloaded.

Eucliiris, I’m not applying anywhere EA but yeah I’m going to apply to some other schools even if I get into Stanford. I’m applying to some UC’s and to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Columbia for sure. If I don’t get in, I’ll apply to some safeties too What about you and everyone else?

I wonder if the recently announced SCEA extension for those impacted by Sandy will mean that decisions will be released later this year.

I also wonder if the extension means they may have time to accept October ACT scores after all.

So is the deadline extended for everybody, or just those on the east coast?

The message on Stanford’s site says “for students and high school personnel affected by the storm,” so it might be just for the East Coast? Maybe you can email the admissions office to check?

MomCares, I think that last year some Ivies (not sure about Stanford) extended their Regular deadlines because of weather, and they still ended up releasing their decisions at the end of March, so I’m betting that Stanford will send out the SCEA decisions by December 15th. Don’t they usually end up with almost a week to spare anyways, if they tend to release decisions a few days early?

ya theyve sent them out the 9th the past few years so even if they are delayed a few days they’ll probably be done by the 15th

I don’t think the hurricane will really affect Stanford’s admission schedule. They probably already have a good portion of the applications, so they can evaluate those while they wait for the delayed ones. I know that most of the applications were probably sent few days before the deadline, but Stanford is also known for having a copious number of Californians applying.

Feels good to be done, finally =)

Sorry if this was clarified earlier, but I didn’t see it. One of my recommenders has yet to submit their recommendation, but my counselor and other teacher already have. Does my last recommender have to submit it by the deadline for me to still apply EA? Other than that, I’ve already submitted my Common App, my supplement, and my payment.

@Red: Based on what I have read on CC/heard from counselors, Universities will understand if your teachers are a bit late with their references, and will not blame that on you. Since you submitted everything else, you should be good.

For those that went in for a live audition, I have a question about the request form. What does Stanford mean by “Representative repertoire you have studied (e.g., Jazz, Chopin Fantaisie in F. Op. 49, etc.)” The examples confuse me a little, because there is a separate field for listing your pieces.

wildcat: If I remember correctly, there is one section where you list the pieces that you will be performing at the audition. The other section is more broad by asking for any representative repertoire. For that section, I believe I put a piece that I am currently working on as well as a couple pieces that I have done in the past but am not performing. at the live audition.

So just to clarify: My counselor hasn’t submitted the school report yet, but my two teachers have submitted their recs. I’m submitting my app later today, so the counselor may have submitted the school report by then, but if he hasn’t then it’s still okay if he submits it tomorrow or something, after I’ve already applied? Just want to make sure.

Halp. Naviance says the school is still pending my transcript request that I sent in 3 weeks ago.

What do I do??

I have a slightly weird situation. Earlier this year, I asked three teachers to write me recommendations for Stanford (without reading carefully the instructions that the Supplemental Rec should not be from a teacher). I have had two of the teachers all four years of high school, and both know me in different ways (one is the coach of my academic team). The last one submitted is probably the strongest. Will Stanford even read it, since it’s from a teacher? Is there a way to designate which one I want them to read?

^You can assign the teachers to the specific school on the common app, so you could probably just not assign one of the teachers.

My act/sat scores are the only thing still unprocessed…?

Sent from my MB865 using CC

it’s okay if your test scores are still unprocessed in the email it says that if by November 10th it’s still not processed then you can contact them but it usually take a little bit longer for them to receive your test scores.

So for the Additional Information section of the essay, is it okay to write a semi-essay if it’s information they should know that isn’t anywhere else on my application? Like, will they even read it?

So nervous and excited!!

My SAT scores haven’t been processed either. I used the online school report to send them on September 28, so over a month ago. I don’t think I got any confirmation emails from Stanford about them. Is this normal? Is there something else I need to do?

Also does the counselor upload the transcript to the common app along with the school report? Or do I have to do something else there as well.
