Hey guys, lets start a list containing when we applied and the status of our applications.
Format:

Date Common app was submitted (online/mail):
Date Supplement was submitted:
Did you send an arts supplement? (Y/N):
Status of processed credentials:
Date you sent your SAT/ACT scores:

For example, mine:
Date Common app was submitted (online/mail): Oct. 14 (online)
Date Supplement was submitted: Oct. 14
Did you send an arts supplement? (Y/N): Yes
Status of processed credentials: Totally complete, including official test scores
Date you sent your SAT/ACT scores: I took the Oct. 2012 SAT. Collegeboard should have mailed my scores on Oct. 25. My credentials were complete as of last Sunday, Oct. 28.

I have a hunch that the official testing scores are processed based on the order in which applications were submitted. However, this assumption is just based on my stats, so I would like to ask others to share thier stats as well, especially those that submitted their app by Oct. 15 to submit arts supplements.

AKShockwave, your counselor is supposed to upload your secondary school report, including your transcript. You can check whether s/he submitted in commonapp.

21tiger, I wrote 3 different “letters” to the admission officers too. They were short ( one was 3 lines). Each covered various areas my application did not cover. I am not sure if this is ok to do though.

How does Stanford notify us of decisions? Is it posted somewhere on the common app? Via email?

Also, close to December, will Stanford post on their website when EXACTLY they will be releasing results? Don’t they usually release earlier than projected (Dec. 15)?

Where can we check the status of all of the materials, such as the SAT scores? I see on the Common App that it shows the submission status of the app and supplement, but is there somewhere I can see everything?

^They should send you an email sometime in the next day or so giving you information about that. You go to some site and click on check application status then enter your email and they send you an email telling you what they have processed.

I am late to the party but I am freaking out that they have not sent me an email regarding my application status. I applied SCEA with a visual arts supplement. I am a homeschooled student and its nice to meet you all.

I called earlier today and they said they can’t trace the extra letter. However, I think I may have seen people saying earlier that they could see their arts supplement was received. I’m not sure though, I’m not submitting one, so I would check.

Can’t believe this, I submitted my supplemental app earlier tonight and somehow my Stanford-graduate relative disappeared from the Affiliation section… Kinda freaked out! But my college counselor is going to call tomorrow and see if he can get them added back in. Praying it works out!

ya unless its like a parent or sibling it’s not going to make much difference but you might as well, every little bit helps.

how many people from your guys’ schools are applying early? we have like 9, and they’re all extremely smart so i’m nervous. how much are you compared to the other applicants from your school?

I only know of one or two others from my school… But one of them is the student body president, of course. their extracurriculars are super good, so I’m hoping my essays are killer and can help me get in even without their extracurriculars.

Submitted final piece, woohoo!! Now I just have to wait… good thing for NaNoWriMo!

ya that’s like me. one is the student body president, and some have higher scores than me. i’m just banking on my essays and my summer internship at this point

Literally 28 other people from my school are applying to Stanford.

About the extra letters though, this was at the bottom of the Stanford supplement.

“Supplementary Credentials: We strongly discourage the submission of any additional supplementary credentials. Exceptions include arts submissions (see above) and one optional letter of recommendation. Any supplementary credentials submitted must be accompanied by your Common Application ID number. We direct all of our applicants to explicitly refrain from submitting any photos, certificates, news clippings, magazine articles, photocopies of awards, etc. Credentials should never be submitted in binders or folders as such materials will be destroyed before ever reaching an admission officer.”

I would contact your college counselor first thing to see if he/she can call them and get that info added. Maybe also call tomorrow yourself to tell them the information and get them to add it. It says on the common app that you must contact the school to change or add info, so I assume that means you can! Good luck!
