The TASS website says that the total chosen to attend this year will be 54 across the three sites. I have not seen hard figures on how many applied, nor how many will be interviewed. I don’t believe they release those numbers, so probably a lot of what you hear is speculation.
My D has applied to another program at NC A & T, and will be going on a trip with her engineering class in August. She figures that if she gets into TASS, great, if not, there are other things to do. Good luck to everyone!
where I live we finally got some snow!! I think it would be super cool if some of us got in and we met at the same seminar and we asked who the other was by their cc username hahaha
@sseamom it’s good that she has back-ups, it’s always more comforting when you know there’s something else to look forward to. Good luck to your daughter, (in whatever program she’s applying to)
@wwwwwwendy@ndemazita I know how cool of an idea that sounds, but I think that’s exactly what telluride doesn’t want it’s selected people to do. Not everyone attending the program is on CC, so they might feel ostracized if we go in already sorta of already having something in common. Though if we get in, by the end of the summer, I think it would be really cool to reveal who we are!
@rockcandy16 yeah, i’ve basically been able to forget about it and focus on school, but now that decisions are so soon, it’s all I can think about. At the end of the day, whether we make it through to the second round or not, we’re still awesome people who can make the best out of our summers!
@wwwwwwendy where do you live? where I live, we get a good amount of snow, but my county is really strict, and only cares about education so we at most get like a 2 hour delay.
@purpleflower yea, I wonder too. How did you guys hear about TASS? I heard through my guidance counselor, they send weekly emails with info about programs, SAT/ACT test dates, and any college related stuff

I received a letter describing the program with an application attached to it in the mail one day. I had never heard about the program before, but it definitely got me interested.
@TheLandOfArielle well don’t just do it for the prestige…you’ll probably be disappointed/bored if you’re just doing it as something to put on your apps.
@purplerflower I didn’t mean it that way, I did some research and the seminars really got my attention as well (especially the Cornell one) if I found them boring I wouldn’t have applied to it
