@chasingmymd1 Take the faculty member and the program director interviews seriously. They are the ones which count the most.
Make sure you have some questions. Not having any would be bad but asking questions that you can easily google are equally bad. Btw, this applies to anyone interviewing and not just HPME.
@texaspgâ
Is it okay if I ask about other parts of NU, such as clubs/teams/non-science classes I would like to participate in? Or should my questions be limited to the HPME program and medicine in general?
@chasingmymd1 the issue with asking about clubs and teams and non-science classes with a medical school faculty member is that they couldnât care less since they are not part of your undergrad admission. Most med schools are autonomous entities inside the university and donât participate in the undergrad activities (add to that NU med school is not near the undergrad campus).
Has anyone heard from UConn, like are they still reviewing bs/md applicants? Apparently they didnât receive part of my application (recommendations) even though i sent like 7 recommendations through the common app and now iâm not being considered. But i might be able to be if I say something about it. I donât know.
@peanut and @chasingmymd1â , my son got interview invitation email from Drexel college of medicine last night. He got two invitations one via Rosemont/Drexel and other one via Lehigh/Drexel. Since the medical school is the same, there will be only one interview.
I am not sure if this increase his chances though. Any comments
Edit: He did not get any email for Drexel/Drexel yet.
@sechukie
Iâm at school right now Iâll check the portal when I get home and report back.
@jb9832â
I had to email UConn because I had a problem with my application too, and they said that I would hear back before March. I would suggest emailing them and explaining why your application was late (I had technical issues) and reiterating your interest in UConn.
Does anyone know if Drexel sends in batches? I applied Lehigh and Villanova but still have not heard back from them
@chasingmymd1â with UConn, I guess they needed supplementary paper recommendations (I submitted the supplement app online before the deadline) and I didnât send them because I had sent a bunch on the common app but for some reason they couldnât use those and they didnât get the paper recs (which would have been the same as the common app ones anyways) and so i probably wont even be considered for the program. Iâm pretty mad about it. Idk my dad was speaking to the admissions counselor and trying to get them to take my common app stuff. I sent a few emails around too. hopefully something will happen. and also with drexel, I would assume so! but keep your hopes up! did you pay your $150?
And congrats everyone who got Drexel Medical interviews! Should I be worried if I havenât received any email from them yet, or do they do it in batches?
Congratulations to everyone with new RPI/AMC supplements! I believe UConn will send out interview invite quite late based on past yearâs posts. It could be end of Feb.
@jb9832 for the Drexel/Drexel e-mail that you received - was that a response to your e-mail/query to them or everyone who applied to Drexel/Drexel should have got that.
I ask this because my D did not get any e-mail from them.
