***Official Thread for 2015 BSMD applicants***

Now I’m worried! No word from Miami or AMC for me though I definitely should have made the cut for both if it’s GPA/SAT based!

The request came in email. Here is a part of the
Email and I quote

" Admission to this highly selective program involves a multi-step evaluation process. Your application was initially reviewed at Union College. It was then forwarded to our school for further consideration. We congratulate you on this accomplishment; not all applications reach our office after the initial screening.

The next stage of the review process requires the completion of the Albany Medical College Supplemental Application for the Leadership in Medicine Program. Our admissions committee uses this additional information to identify those applicants best suited for this unique and challenging program. Following this review, selected applicants will be invited to interview.

Our application can be found on our website. To access our E-Supplemental Application, please follow the instructions as described below: "

I applied to Siena though, not Union. Has anyone gotten a confirmation or secondary application for Siena?

My son applied to Union on Nov 7th, no supplement yet. Hope gets it, because he really likes the program.

Anyone have any idea when UConn BS/MD will notify its applicants?

Anyone who applied to RPI/AMC receive a response yet?

Does anyone know how AMC’s selection works? Do they send their supplement emails all at once or do they send them throughout the weeks because I applied early November and I’m freaking out I didn’t get anything yet!

Which undergrad did you apply to. Usually the process is defined by the undergrad school. If you apply to all 3 schools , each school submits their list to AMC which then allows you to submit the supplement. Each supplement is charged the fee even though only interview will be held and results passed back to all the schools.

@texaspg I applied to Union and RPI. Do you know if all decisions were released tosay or will they continue to be throughout the month? Thanks!

If you only applied in the middle of last month I don’t see how they can decide so quickly.

From what I know each school has to decide who their shortlist is and turn it over to AMC and then AMC releases a letter to them. The candidate usually has only one week at that point to file their essays and complete the AMC app. From what I have seen, it is not across board for all candidates and it is a process that drags on for several weeks.

It is possible that that both schools can shortlist a strong candidate or neither picks a weaker candidate.AMC will collect a fee for each app for each school along with your app.

Any news about Penn/Jefferson program ? My son’s application status says

“We are reviewing your credentials for the Accelerated Premedical-Medical program. A decision will be available here as soon as one is made.”

Any body else got the same message ?

Hi everyone!! I’m a senior in high school right now and going through the same application process as many of you! I had no idea this thread even existed but I just read through it and I really wish I had known about it earlier. Anyways, I’ll be here regularly from now on sooo just wanted to introduce myself :)

Also, I have an interview at NJIT tomorrow so it would be awesome if anyone maybe had theirs already and has any advice for me?

My D’s Penn/Jefferson application status has the same as that of Dildil’s son.

Yeah, my Penn State application page says that same thing too

my penn state application page is like this:

your application and high school transcript have been received. Please continue to check your status.
9th Grade transcript needed.
10th Grade transcript needed.
11th Grade transcript needed.

what does it mean that they need 9, 10, 11 grades transcript, if they already received the transcript. Pleas can anyone help here???

That is strange. Better check with your counselor, who should have sent out your transcript already.

my counselor said she sent it out, and my application did state that they received my high school transcript. :((

@faymer‌
That’s strange. I applied on the 14th of November and received their email with the supplemental application on the 1st of December. Although it is possible that they are sending them out in batches every week.

@luceatluxvestra I got my supplement yesterday!!!

From which program you received the supplement? RPI or Union?
