@GoodDoctor would you mind telling us your sons scores for sat, act, and subject ?
@upstream - oos 262/17/3 for UCONN. I am assuming that 3 is the number of enrolled students. Do you know how many acceptances they give? Thanks.
@chasingmymd1 would you mind telling us your sat, act, and subject test scores?
@GoodDoctor 3 would be the matriculated rate, however the number of acceptances will be lower this year than last. Last year around 700-900 kids applied.
Anyone have any tips for the Drexel interview??
Has anyone heard from Cincinatti? Either way?
@md2021 Cincinnati DAP will post their admissions decisions on their portal on March 2nd.
I have a drexel interview this weekend and it seems as if no one knows what its like. So in general can anyone explain how medical school interviews differ from regular interviews? this is my first med school interview. I had an interview with NJIT before they forwarded me to NJMS, and they seemed to ask the generic “why medicine” and clinical experience questions. How would a med school interview be different or what would they ask? (ps there is no ug interviews for the drexel program so this is my first interview for that program at all).
Med school interviews tend to ask very situational questions and they try to assess how much common knowledge you have, compared to UG interviews where it’s a lot about the undergraduate major and how that may help you in med school and general question of “why med”, at least in my experience @randombowss good luck!
@randombowss
I’ve had four med school interviews thus far and I can confirm that what @jb9832 said is true. Based on my personal experience alone (n=1) there’s really no way to prepare for the medical school interview aside from knowing how to answer “why medicine” and “why this program”. Like jb9832 said, the interviewers for med school like asking you these seemingly random questions that evaluate how quickly you can think on your feet and formulate a coherent response. Just try not to be nervous and remember that what you say is not as important as how confidently you say it. Hope this helps!
Thanks @jb9832 and @starwatch! Just to get an idea, can you give an example of a potential one of these situational/critical thinking questions? Appreciate it
@greysfan The PSU/Jeff interview was yesterday…so you did not get an interview sorry good luck with everything else!
@randombowss one of the odd questions i got yesterday was about a highly specific medical surgery procedure which luckily i knew about… So it’s pretty random… Im just thankful I took AP bio and remember most things lol.
@jb9832 So did they ask you about the “highly specific medical surgery” procedure or the ethics or morality of the process. I heard they mostly focus around bioethics, yes, situation based questions, but not technical details of the procedures. Can you please elaborate.
Thank you for feedback
Is anyone going for Union/AMC interview on Feb 27th. Please let me know.
If we don’t hear from Pitt by tonight, does that mean we were rejected?
@docgirll
My friend emailed Pitt GAP office and they told him that he would hear back about the program by the end of the week. To be certain, I would just call Pitt to verify this information. Best of luck to all!
@bsmdcan it was a blend of social and ethical along with straight up factual information… I was asked lots of situational questions and asked “what would you do if…” type questions
@jb9832 @bsmdcan
I was never asked any factual questions (beyond the basics of my research) but I did get many ethical questions.
I have an interview for RPI/AMC and I was wondering if the interview is MMI?
