Would be interested to know as well what everyone thinks of UMiami GPA of 3.7 and MCAT of 513. Is MCAT and GPA doable? How hard does this make overall?

The required GPA and MCAT score are usually tied to the averages for admitted student for the MD program. More and more colleges are moving to this process because there is a concern that the students are slacking off during undergrad and are not meeting the expected standard of the medical school and pull down the averages being published by the medical school.

@penkid, in line with what texaspg said, some Bachelor/MD programs that have you take the MCAT require you to score at that particular school’s matriculating average for that year, although there are some schools that just require you to score above a relatively much lower predetermined MCAT score.

So a 513 on the new MCAT is equivalent to either a 34, or between 32/33.

@GoldenRock Congratulations. We are in same boat as your D, Only program accepted so far is Temple and rest all are UG schhols with scholorships. Waiting on GAP and Brown but doesn’t look positive.
