***Official Thread for BSMD Applicants 2018***

Yes, she got that yesterday.

@xpd600090
She got interview from Pitt or HPME ?

I also called Drexel SOM today - they verified what @ppst #1575 said. They are still in the process of offering interviews. Itā€™s not over untilā€¦ well, until you get a rejection notice. :slight_smile:

Havenā€™t heard anything from upitt GAP or HPME and Iā€™m wondering if we donā€™t hear back by end of next week whether that would mean a rejection!

@GoldenRock
I believe you once posted a list for BS/MD programs with statistics on instate-out of state, number of applicants, number interviewed, number accepted/matriculated. Do you mind kindly re-posting it if you still have t? I went back through the thread and seem unable to locate it. Appreciate your help. Thanks!

From @Goldenrock,

Read it as follows.

In state, Out State, Total. Number of applicant, Interviewed, enrolled (This is not accepted, accepted student number could be higher) Along with GPA. SAT. ACT data for average student accepted for the program (This is not requirement, it is average of students accepted. Requirement to apply may be lower), where ever it was published. Here you go. Store it for future reference, so you donā€™t have to search this thread all the time.

Thanks a lot @GoldenRock for the info and @bsmdseeker for sharing. Iā€™ll save it somewhere this time

Received an interview invite for Brooklyn Collegeā€™s BA/MD program. Email says that they selected 120 people for interviews. About 15 people are given spots, with a waitlist as well.

Where is this information coming from? Iā€™m not sure this is reliable, especially the information for Drexel. Admissions officer said that they receive around 2000 applications and accept only around 20.

Here are the pages for the posts referred Page 26, 67 & 75 (Refer to posts 377, 993 & 1123 in this thread).
These are all old information to get an idea. Admission notification date post is accurate for 2016. Also the interview notification dates were compiled during 2016 by me. The other one bearchi shared.

@Elusivegod yes that data is kind of the same I got. The data I got is 1600 people applied for 20 spots. And interviews are for about 65-75 people

FYI

NJMS interview invite comes out today

@bsmdegree Just curious but where did you hear that? Did you call NJMS?

@TheElusiveGod

Iā€™m not necessarily sure if that stat. is correct. If they only accepted 20 kids, then the expected yield would only be around 10-15 kids or so (which is definitely, definitely way too low).

I went to the Pre-Health Admissions Event at Drexel a year and a half ago, and for the BS/MD program, even then, they said they accepted 65 kids.

Especially considering that they combined all the multiple feeders into one this year, I would expect the number of accepted students to increase along with the applicants (albeit at a much lower rate).

@GoldenRock @bsmdseeker I found the chart and references in previous posts are a bit difficult to follow so I made them ā€œformattedā€ as above.

Here is the code. Remove the space after every ā€œ[ā€ to make it effective:

@vijikmc Did you find out if the UH HBS intent to pursue is a binding request?

Has anyone heard from Stevens Institute of Tech for their BS/MD program with NJMS? They said they were gonna send out undergrad interview invites in January, and I havenā€™t heard anything from them.

@GreenPoison The stat mentioned is enrolled (38) and what you were told is accepted (65) for Drexel. That sounds right. In variably all the schools give much higher number of acceptances since not every student will join. Especially in BS/MD, in 2016 there was an outstanding student who got almost 10+ acceptances. In general there are going to be many outstanding students and they will continue to get multiple offers and they are going to join just 1 college.
