I made a grammatical mistake in the first sentence of my personal statement and didn’t realize it until after I submitted it! :((

they dont mind about grammar mistakes in your personal statement since they just want to understand your overall message. besides your grade in english should reflect how well you write anyways

If you have to rely solely on your race to get you into Berk you probably don’t have a good chance.
admission officers never read personal statements as a negative. anything optional will not be put against you, but rather for you

@masontruelove a year or two ago the Supreme Court decided that it was okay for universities to use race as a deciding factor after a student was denied from a med school in Texas and got upset. She took it all the way up and that was the decision.

I heard someone (I think Lindy) say that PS is never used against you. It will be either neutral or benefit you.

I’m at a job interview right now and I look and feel like a goat because the anxiety is killing me. And that metaphor didn’t make sense, I’m sorry, I haven’t been good at making sense these past few days.

My CC effed up and stated that I have an overall GPA of 3.6…Turns out I actually have a 3.2 (LOL)
Although I can’t put all the blame on my CC, I just can’t help but feel a bit bitter towards my school for giving me false hope with such a high GPA.
TT.TT If I knew I had a 3.2, I would have at least applied to some cal states dammit.
So who has gotten into all the UCs they’ve applied to and are just waiting to hear from UCB and UCI?

I reread my statements last week before UCLA released their decisions and found two grammatical errors in one of my statements. I don’t think they scrutinize errors
