I’m actually applying for transfer in a couple months to pretty much all the UC’s and one or two out-of-state colleges. My top is UCLA/CAL/UCI. I started off my first year at a community college as a business economics major, but then I ended up switching to political science because I enjoyed it so much.
By the time I transfer I’ll have 71 units.
Here’s a little background on my two year journey so far:
first semester (Fall 2014): 3.6 GPA (15 units & one W grade)
second semester (Spring 2015): 2.94 GPA I know it’s terrible, but there was a car accident with my dad and it took a huge toll on me, and it affected me to the point where I had a hard time focusing on anything, even school.
Summer 2015: Took one class got an A in it & retook two of the classes I failed from Spring 2015 and got A’s in both.
Fall 2015: This is when I changed my major. I checked assist.org as you should & I realized I could still transfer as planned because there were many classes that needed to be taken & I’m practically finished with my IGETC already.
I’m shooting for a 4.0, but it might be pipe dreaming.
However, I’m nervous because I’m taking two non-transferrable courses (one math & one writing).
I’ll still finish everything on time so I’m not worried.
I’m just nervous that my transcript looks terrible, not to mention I’m at multiple CC’s.
I have pretty good E.C.'s though ranging from working the full two years part time, an international internship and a domestic internship at a hedge fund along with 100+ community service hours.
Chance me and I’ll forever be grateful, thanks so much & sorry for the long post!!!
