*Official UC Davis waitlist thread (freshmen only)*

@ iwannabeanaggie, Davis realeses their wait list response late May every year. This year is not the only one. What exactly do you mean about the rejection appeal? Can you please explain? That’s my first time hearing that.

hey, is the website down for any of you? It seems to be down right now. does that mean that decisions are being updated?

No, I don’t think so! Wait until next week. I have already committed CCSF!

okk D: Gosh does this suck or what.

@mbshah if any of us get rejected (I hope not!!!), then we can appeal the rejection. I’ve read that the latest to appeal is May 24. I’m wondering if we are even going to hear back from them by then…

also my account on myadmissions is not down. Hopefully we find out sometime soon!

MYOMOO if your already committed to CCSF does that mean you gave up your spot on the wait list because if your not planning to go UCD if you get accepted off the waiting list youd be taking someone spot that would attend if given the opportunity

@ iwannabeanaggie, I haven’t heard that the appeal deadline is the 24th, but I know that if it is, that it will still be the deadline, regardless of whether we hear about the wait list. My advice is that you prepare your appeal now, just in case. Hopefully you won’t need it, but if you do, at least you’ll save yourself some additional stress.

Sorry, I just re-read my post and it is unclear. I meant that the deadline will be whatever Davis has determined, regardless of when we HEAR about our individual status on the wait list. And anyone declined from the wait.ist will have an opportunity to appeal, although the deadline may come up very quickly.

@mbshah actually the waitlist response last year, 2011 came out on may 2nd. It is also on a rolling basis so the people who get in will be notified first and those who don’t will be notified later. @heyouthere all of us had to commit to another school as a back up plan just in case we don’t get into Davis. Almost everyone SIR to another school. Doesn’t mean you gave up your spot, just means you lose a deposit of whatever you put down.

No, you can cancel your SIR at one school to accept an offer at a school you were waitlisted to.

i know we all had to submit our SIR to our backup school but the fact that we took the spot on the waiting list and are willing to withdraw our SIR from our backup if we are accepted to UCD shows that we are not committed to our backup schools but MYOMOO said she was so i was just sayin…

Clarification

Dear heyouthere,

I am sorry to make you guys confused. But if admitted, I am 100% sure to attend Davis because I got rejected/waitlisted from all college I applied. I have to select class in CCSF because if I don’t do so, I may not be able to have class this fall. So I wish you will understand my situation. But in fact, I think my chance is extremely slim. :frowning: GamerAddict I really hope we can see each other in UC Davis :)

Sincerely,
MYOMOO

@ihatewaitlists,
You mentioned that it’s on a rolling basis right? So who ever gets in will be notified in early may and the people that get notified late may will not get it. Alright so it’s kinda late May does thAt mean we have no chances of gettting in. If I’m wrong do correct me.

@ Ihatewaitlists, are you planning on going to Davis?

MYOMOO, I really hope we both manage to get admitted as well! :)

@mbshah I don’t know how it works, but think of it this way:

While the majority of people on the waitlist will attend Davis for sure if they are accepted, there is still a large portion who will not attend even if they are accepted from the waitlist. Since people only have 3 days to accept the waitlist offer, that means that they will have to keep on sending out acceptances in an attempt to fill the seats. So even at the very end of the month, there is always still a chance.

Lets say they had 1,000 available seats, so they accept 1,000 off the waitlist. However, maybe only 700 of those kids accepted from the waitlist actually accept the offer and send in their SIR within the 3 days notice. That means they will have to accept another 300 to fill the seats; this would logically continue until every seat is filled. So don’t give up hope so readily! :)

@waitinnwaitin thanks.

I dont think people who are being accepted are notified first this year, because the only responses any of us have heard from are people who were rejected. Also, I didn’t SIR anywhere so UCD is really the only thing standing between me and junior college. other than this thread, nothing is really being updated, so we’ll have to keep waiting. Hopefully there will be good news for all of us!

@iwannabeanaggie. I am in the same situation. I didn’t SIR anywhere. Although I got accepted to all the states schools that I applied to, Davis is my dream school. Good luck to everyone, hope to see you there.

@mbshah, they told me it was on a rolling basis, so the accepted get notified first. However, no one I know has been accepted to Davis off the waitlist so I dont know what is taking them so long. Last year it came out on the 2nd. From what I was told it was accepted will be notified first and rejected, last. & yes I am planning on attending Davis.

This is taking forever! D:

All of us on this thread is planning to attend Davis. Nothing much to say but good luck everyone! May is closing in and there is nothing much we can do about it. I’m sure most of us has grown a few strand of white hair since the beginning of may. Here is a present from em to you: [the quiet place](<a href=“thequietplaceproject.com - thequietplaceproject Resources and Information.”>thequietplaceproject.com - thequietplaceproject Resources and Information.).

@ihatewaitlists,
I never heard of a rolling basis before. I was just curious. Thank you for clarifying. Btw, where did you hear that from?
Good luck! Hope you get in!
