@UC Davis
So have you denied any students from the waitlist? I found some people got denied.

^I would like to know this as well… One of my friend’s friends was apparently rejected off the waitlist on May 2nd?

@UC Davis. Thank you so much for your information. We will look forward the results.

when I called, there was a nice lady who picked up ad told me that they have sent decisions for a few applicants and its totally based on rolling admissions

Another friend got rejected by all UCs and now get in UCI through appeal! I know CCSF will be my final place! :)

ok rolling admission truly does not make any sense. by definition,
“Under rolling admission, candidates are invited to submit their applications to the university anytime within a large window. The window is usually over six months long, and some schools do not have a previously specified end date (the window simply closes when all spots are filled). The university will then review the application and notify the applicant of their decision within a few weeks from submission.”

this means if you apply early, you’ll be notified early. MANY of us, myself included, accepted the waitlist within the first two days. If anyone should’ve been notified by now (if it really is rolling admission), it would’ve been us. I don’t think anyone should trust what they hear on the phone, and just wait and hope for the best. I hope we all get in!!!

i agree with iwannabeanaggie. I called and the lady told me that they hadn’t send out any decisions yet…

why would you send your waitlist acceptance right away it took me a few days at least to perfect my essay i dont think two days is enough to write a good essay even for a good writer

i dont think it matters WHEN you sent in your waitlist acceptance because if they would have wanted it as soon as possible they wouldnt have asked for an essay

@heyuthere,
I don’t think you should put anyone down on the fact that “I don’t think two days is enough to write a good essay even for a good writer”. You should really keep that to yourself. I’m just thinking about some people that have written the response which was ONLY 200 words, and that might hurt their feelings. As for myself I turned in my response after I revised it 5x and I submitted it in two days before the last date. Other then that, let’s look at the bright side. Let’s hope for the best and ATLEAST many people sent in a response. Most people I know didn’t want to put in a response because they were lazy. I really hope you understand where im coming from. Good Luck!

@heyouthere i don’t think it’s important now anyway. I must admit that I felt immediate regret turning it in early, but now i think it was alright. I said what i needed to and I what i felt. but enough of that. i realllyyyy hope we all get in!

you guys made me regret turning it in two days before the deadline eventhough i revised almost every day for a week and a half you guys are saying how its based on a rolling basis and that it depends on when you submitted your acceptance to the waitlist that made me worried
i wasnt trying to put anyone down

@heyyouthere, don’t worry. I called and the lady said it doesn’t matter when you opt in the waitlist

Yesterday I was talking to one of the coordinators from Davis and she told me that “As long as you turned in your response, that you would be just fine”. So please don’t be worried. The only way ONE wouldn’t be a accepted into Davis from the waitlist is if your major is in demand or because of competition. For example “Biology, NPB, or even biological sciences” but that doesn’t mean any of these majors probably didn’t get accepted. So about the rolling basis its “BS”. Please don’t be worried. Hope this helped some people.

Do you guys think physics major is competitive in Davis. Is there any available spot for physivcs major? Anyone majoring in physics staying in the waitlist?

Anyone else majoring in Computer Engineering?

@mbshah; thanks for the info. Do you know how competitive is the Bio-Medical Engg.?

Ahh, I did biology! Davis is my dream school though!!

My major is Biology too! I am nervous, because I put undeclared, but I am sure I want to do Biology. Can someone please tell me how they will determine whether or not I will be admitted if I put undeclared under life sciences as my major? Will this put me at a disadvantage?

my major is undeclared-physical sciences. its in the college of Letters/Science. do you think i have a shot?
