Uh, Lo, this is the transfer forum. This thread is about transfer appeals.

yah still good luck at getting in and actually surviving

good luck on your appeals.

ehm..but I think you can only send SIR to one UC only?Is it true?

"ehm..but I think you can only send SIR to one UC only?Is it true?"

Again, if you change your mind (and have not rejected all other UC offers yet) you can submit another SIR (to a different UC) and forfeit the $100 you submitted with the first one. Call admissions offices.

As I mentioned earlier, I have asked the Admission Office in UCLA, they say that if I send in the transcript and pay for the SIR in UCLA, I will forfeit Berkeley. Is that true? Because if not, then I don't really mind paying the $100 and have a peace of mind.

That is not true. Berkeley has no idea you filed the SIR with UCLA. Ask anyone who has filed a SIR. Your SIR offers remain for the other schools. The $100 is so people won't file a SIR and then change their mind.

But you have till June 1. If you are talking about waiting till after then, it's clearly not a good idea, as you will forfeit any offers on the table.

Oh..are you sure? The UCLA SIR application website mentioned that filling SIR with several UCs will jeopardize your application. Is that true? That was what prevented me from paying the SIR for UCLA first.

URSA online mentioned
"you may only submit one positive University of California SIR.
Acceptance of more than one UC offer may jeopardize your enrollment."

Is that true?

Dude, I've already said my part, nothing more to say. It would certainly jeopardize your enrollment if you submitted two and didn't cancel one.

I think in some cases, you are able to submit two. For example, i've submitted my SIR to UCLA, but then they withdrew my admission. I would assume that submitting an SIR to UCI would not jeopardize my enrollment to UCLA (if they readmit me), or UCI.

so is anyone nervous? we have like 3 days left till decisions are posted... i'm getting quite anxious if you ask me

alright.. thanks gabe.. doesnt mean to question you or anything.. I am really nervous if you ask me.. some of my friend who appealed already heard the bad news..

The bottom line is that you contact the admissions office if you want to change your SIR after you have already submitted it.

I agree with g1a2b3e. I submitted a SIR to UCLA last year, and later got accepted to Berkeley. I sumbitted another SIR to Berkeley and sent a letter to UCLA declining their offer. No problems =)

Hey, welcome back, suzzieq!

hey oxus, so your friend heard word already from berkeley? and were they a transfer/freshman applicant?

according to many posters (frosh applicants) on the Berkeley forum who contacted admissions, the appeal decisions were rolling. So feel good if you made it this far without a rejection. Every day you don't receive a response indicates better odds of a successful appeal.

whoa... that was good news, but at the same time, its making me more anxious!
