anyone still waiting? haven’t heard from any business guys at all… this is my last hope guys. idk what to do
@hiimfriendly yes for business information management. What about you?
Chances are slim right now tbh.
@BIMguy business admin. yea there were a lot more people who got waitlisted on main thread but haven’t heard from them yet. Im sure all the waitlisted freshmen have been notified. Haven’t heard anything from the business major transfers yet. The last “wave” was like 2 weeks ago so idk if they’ll be sending out rejections soon or another wave.
A slight problem now for me. I applied to UC Davis for CS but put Applied Physics as an alt and got accepted for that major. I have until the 16th to SIR. Do I risk the $100 dollars or should I hold out hope for CS at UCI and risk another year at a CC?
@KennyAndTheJets I would definitely not hold up hope for a major as competitive at CS especially at a good school like UCI. You can pay the money and if UCI ends up accepting you, just contact UC Davis to cancel your SIR. You can always go the CC route if you don’t get accepted to UCI and you do not want to go to UC Davis of course.
@KennyAndTheJets I would risk the $100 if I was you, UC Davis is a good school and it’s close to Silicon Valley.
@lugi350 @KennyAndTheJets UC Davis is not that close to Silicon Valley but it has good recruitment opportunities just like UCI (my brother goes to UCD, he had the option to go to UCI and UCD and picked UCD).
Still not hear back for CS… Anyone still waiting ?
@KKKIII still waiting… Software/CS
same… CS/Software
@Ecain17 @lugi350 @BIMguy Yea Davis is good but I think I’m going to take a chance and wait on UCI and risk another year at my CC and get more prerequisites done. I like UCD but I think that the offer for Applied Physics will probably be there next year.
I’m hopeful for UCI but I’m already looking at next year. Going to apply to UCI, UCD, csulb(fall back school), cal poly Pomona, and ucla(the shot in the dark school).
same here , still waiting for CS
@KennyAndTheJets Just want you to know that I was actually accepted to UCI last year, but I decided to take more classes at a CC. Now here I am on the waitlist even though my GPA didn’t drop. I was accepted for CE instead of CS though, so I guess it’s different. CSULB is quite competitive from what I hear as well. It looks like you have your plan though, so that’s good.
@Ecain17 Oh no. That is good to know. It makes sense in a way that admission this year doesn’t guarantee admission next year. CSULB is super competitive but I pretty much have guaranteed admission because I have local area preference luckily and have met their minimum requirements for CS. Seeing a few people with TAG still get wait-listed at UCI worries me a bit. Seems nothing is guaranteed.
still waiting?
still waiting. I’ve been waiting too long and I don’t think I’d get in to UC Irvine .
UCI is ridiculous haha
I’m checking my status every morning like X_X haha
Just called up UCI about three times. I heard from the three individuals at Admissions and Records that the UCI transfer waitlist decisions are being delayed, once again. They are now expecting to send out the decisions in mid to late July. :-w
I was told that so far, there have been very, very few, if not any transfer waitlist decisions released for Fall 2016 transfer students, but it appears as if some students in this thread have heard back.
So, while the delay is also frustrating, it also provides hope for students thinking that they had no chance under the logic that they are the last to hear back, since rejections seem to come out, historically, after most acceptances.
So, the wait continues.
@AttackOnSteel Best of luck mate. I did receive mine a couple of weeks ago and so have a couple of others. But the person may still be telling the truth when he says very, very few.
