Official UCI Transfer admittance Thread

@ lawlking and navymike: You’re both right. It all depends on your field and your own ambition but it isn’t everyone. I have a friend who does have some work experience, graduated and now makes 100k working for google. My gf goes to Art Center in Pasadena and one of her friends sold his automotive design to Mercedez Benz for $130,000. He was 17 @ that time. She also has a friend who dropped out because Sony offered them a big design position before they graduated. So it all depends on the type of person and what kind of drive you have to succeed.

Isn’t 40k a little low for an accountant? I was making 35k before and i was able to buy a brand new car when I was 20. That’s the reason I came back to school for a degree because like many of us, we hope to become the 1%. lol

^^Exactly. It’s not always the school and the degree that gets you a job. It’s how you apply yourself.

what does your friend do for google?

I also TAG’d UCI with a psych major, but no response yet :(

@Idizzle What major are you going for and what field are you trying to get into?

Did anyone who was accepted in the first batch NOT get regents and/or chp?

Back on topic; seems like the “batch” wasn’t yesterday, speculation on when it might be?

If you guys checked the UCI Admissions Facebook page, it says that the first batch was just the honors transfer students, and that they released typically once a week—so hopefully there will still be a batch within the next few days since there were no releases for this week yet.

that actually is a valid point, thats for that jb.

@uckitty: something with advertising or marketing. They were a Econ major.

@gametime: I applied as an anyhro major at uci and some other schools and as a comm major for the csu’s and uc’s that offer it.

I ddnt know at first but from my job, I would like to go into PR or applied anthro in intl business. Something like that.

Excuse my spelling, sent from phone.

“Hi Kevin and Chris! Admissions decisions are not posted daily … typically once a week and during the evening.”

“During March admission notifications are posted prior to 9:00 a.m. No admission status changes will occur for the remainder of the day.”

???

^ From 9am to the evening they don’t post decisions…meaning they upload them from the evening hours until 9am, and don’t update during the day.

when my son or daughter applies to UC, if it is still existent, I’m going to have him/her put VAGUE attendance dates, course descriptions and all that under some alias…payback!

lol

I’m sure you’ll be feeling better in a few weeks time.

Guys, you cannot take your frustration out on high school students… I understand your positions because I am a transfer after all, but taking it out on 17-18 year olds isn’t the right direction for us. We cannot judge them because they are younger then us. Heck, we all had our chances when we were their age, but we didn’t/couldn’t get those GPA’s during that time of our lives (or etc for those with extraordinary circumstances.) They can definitely be judging us the same way! I encourage them, especially because i was a slacker in highschool.

Wtever irvine hurry up. Prolly only a few weeks left or days???

^ They have until April 30th.

Ha…they have until April 30 therefore they will post most of the decisions like April 29 with a couple more batches coming in the first week of May.

It’s been a rough week and I am starting to feel fidgety.

@AllFields I know what you mean. I hate week 10, I have finals on saturday ughhh

Down with week 10.

This worrying is distracting.

I feel for you strive. I have actually never heard of finals on Saturday…
Mine are this coming Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
