Anyone have any idea when the next batch for UCI will come out? Someone speculated the 29th?

@ThePavin hopefully the next batch will come out soon. UCI’s been awfully quiet. I guess they are taking their time with the new transfer holistic approach.

@icedespresso
Love the name btw.
But what is this transfer holistic approach?

Someone said a lot of decisions came out last year on march 29th. So hopefully a lot of decisions come out this coming week!!

Me too. My top 3 are taking wayyy too long. On a side note, I got into SB this morning =]

@Socalhopeful There should be couple articles floating around for UCI’s holistic approach.

I actually chatted with an UCI admission rep on CollegeWeek Live. I specifically asked them if they were doing holistic reviews on transfers and they told me yes.

The holistic review system looks at other things besides your grades. I assume they tend to look over your personal statement more carefully and your ECs.

::edit::
TY!!!I love my name too! Well drinking my name more like. :]

I like the idea of UCI being “awfully quiet”. Makes me think of a predator on the prowl sneaking up behind us, ready to surprise us defenseless prey with its rejection letters.

Ughh, UCI. Why you take so long?! :(

I have a feeling the next batch will be April 1st because of the message i received about my questionnaire having a deadline of March 31.

@cosmicbubble is getting a questionnaire a good or bad thing?

i think its a good thing since i know that my acceptance will be on this next essay, it’s now or never

ohh okay. hmm i wonder if not getting one is a bad sign then

what questionnaire? I never got one… does it come out on the admissions website?

^I heard it’s mostly for borderline students

I never got a questionnaire either… I am a bit worried now

haha duuuude your making me nervous!! oh noo

this waiting is ****ing me off btw. :[ i got in a cal state already but no plans on going there

@ CosmicBubble: See what you did? Now everyone wants a questionnaire. LOL

well unless its a supplemental questionnaire cause i read on a different thread that those are to get some extra information on the student before they decide to admit them or not. This is what I found and it was for fall 2011

“The Irvine questionnaire is IDENTICAL to the one UCLA sent two weeks ago. It does mean that you are in a borderline situation, and the adcom is giving you the opportunity to expand upon your strongest talent/achievement, and also to discuss any home, medical, or financial circumstances that might have cause your GPA or SAT to be a little lower that it otherwise might have been in the absense of those circumstances”

It’s for borderliners huh? Hrm… then was I accepted for sure, or without a doubt rejected…? Come on Irvine!

@ iDizzle :x sry lol

I’m currently working on my 2nd paragraph for the 1st prompt. I’m trying my very best so it can be perfect =D
