Official UCI Transfer admittance Thread

@Pavin

I was wondering the same thing, but I heard that it would be a Tuesday announcement thing. I going to guess it will be a daily batch, but maybe they are starting with the non-impacted majors and the TAGS

why don’t you guys add them on facebook and ask them directly rather posted here guessing.

Second what Ferrari said. They reply really quickly if you ask. Post a comment with your question on the UCI Admissions Fbook Wall!

e.g. Someone asked:

Q. Do you release admissions decisions by major?
and UCI replied almost immediately with: Hi! No, we typically do not send out admissions decisions by major.

3.3 Sociology nothing yet. I’m sure we’ll know by next week…oh and no tag.

@ strive: yup I also got mine at 3am

@Ferrari4XD

What kind of research did you do to conclude that there is a 60% of you getting rejected?

12 AM checks email

^and nothing :(

I checked my email and the UCI portal. Nothing. Sigh

LOL. 10 char

sooo sad. I can’t help but be unsure about my academic abilities now

I just checked at midnight too… 3.93 psychology and nothing yet :frowning: I assume my lack of a TAG and not finishing calculus aren’t helping me here, but seeing people get into my major with a slightly lower GPA while I have nothing yet is making me a bit nervous. Maybe being in NorCal vs. SoCal factors into it?

@encgdr

From information average gpa admitted to uci last year as business admin like around 3.7 or 3.8 +

This year i doubt it would be more than that. Sadly business admin is one of those monopoly major with fierce competition at UCI.

@ newsoul, I totally forgot about the regional factor. do you guys personally think the area you live in would make a difference?

Here is what I was told by an adcom about the holistic review process at UCLA for non-specialty school majors:

Your application gets assigned to 2 different reviewers. The people reviewing your app usually have a big stack of applications to review. Each of the individuals assigned to your applications reviews it for completion of coursework, prereqs, GPA, essay. They do read your essay/check your ECs, but it’s usually not a factor unless your application is lackluster in other areas or if you’re applying to an impacted major in L&S. Some reviewers are simply more efficient than others. Additionally, some applications are easier to review than others. Oh - and if the 2 people don’t agree, they get a third to act as a tie-breaker.

So… that’s what happens at UCLA, and I bet it’s pretty similar at UCI.

I doubt that region has anything to do with when you get your admissions decision.

the thought of having 2 people you will never meet determining your future is kinda weird. so do you guys think ucla and other schools are still reviewing ours?

Please notice us if anyone got acceptance!!
Include your stats. Im too stressed out to check my email.

Lets try to keep this thread strictly to UCI admittance decisions. However as of right now I haven’t gotten an email nor has my notification changed :/

Super ancy about decisions. I have 4 F’s on my record, though all of them have been retaken for A’s. My GPA is a 5.52 still and I applied as a Global Cultures major. Pretty strong essays and some EC’s, just reallllly worried about those F’s. I did give an explanation in the comments box on the app. Anybody think this will defer me from getting in to irvine?

GPA is a 3.52* ^^
