Ok, so lets keep only 1 thread for everyone appealing UCLA.

Im here. I submitted one page with doctor's notes explaining my medical condition during the period of time where I had a bad GPA and a couple W's.

I think thats new and compelling info ;)

no letters of rec. tho. Anyone can get those.

sooo... what about everyone else?

im here too. sent mine in last week.

explained my low grades due to faimly responsibility when my mom fell sick. sent in doctors note explaining that.
also included the honors program i got into, which only 30 people get into each graduating class.

anyone receive some kind of update that ucla got ur appeal?

I check online and it says the same thing from my rejection letter.

I am going to call them tomorrow to see if the received my appeal letter.

i called them today and they said to resend it =/

^^^what?!?!?!?!??! why!?!?!??!!??!?

Did they give you any reason to resend the appeal letter, peppamintt?

I sent mine in last Tuesday and my online rejection letter says the same thing also…

well they said that its been a while since i sent it(i sent it last monday) and they havent received it so i should resend it and that they have started uploading letters

but im gonna wait until monday before i resend it. maybe theyre stupid? if u guys dont see urs, then i feel better.

I sent my on monday(this past monday 5 days ago) Im going to call them tomorrow. What number are you calling?

i sent mine in LAST monday.

yess i did. i wonder y they didnt getit

I just called them.

They DID receive my Appeal letter :)

Hopefully I get in!!!

Vyruz Reaper, has your UCLA online rejection letter changed?

Anyone know how to check your appeal status to see if they have received the letter?

If not, I guess I may have to call them on Monday to make sure…

I sent my appeal on Thursday morning. It took me two weeks of trying to perfect everything before I sent it off. Recs came from my college president and a letter written jointly by a biz prof and an accounting prof. Also attached a doctor’s note to validate my condition.

my window hasn’t changed but i’ll let ya’ll know on monday after i call them

ugh,

i don’t know if i should appeal. i’m an economics major and i’m a first year transfer. when i applied, i had a 3.76 (B in calc1) and after winter i’m was at a 3.83. i called them and they said my gpa wasn’t competitive enough for my major.

i only applied to sd, la and sc. i got into sd but haven’t heard from sc. i don’t want to stay at cc another year because it was HELL trying to complete 60 units in one year.(i didn’t take bs/easy classes, which was stupid on my part. but they weren’t hard, it was just having to attend 12 hour long classes every freakinn day)

i could go to sd, but i really would like to stay in la. and IF i get into sc, i don’t really to go because i dont want to put that burden on my parents since both of my sisters go to sc already (one for grad and the other for undergrad… which equals 150k a year… if i go too that’s 200k just on tuition… and i didn’t apply for financial aid because everyone said i wouldn’t qualify)

but i dont know what to say on my appeal letter… so idk waht to dO!!!

my gpa is 3.64 and they said the only reason i was rejected was calc 2. i didnt take it yet and im bus econ. they said if i did, i was accepted.

Allison, I had the SAME EXACT thing happen to me. I’m a 1 year transfer and got a B in Calc 1 and it destroyed my GPA (3.6) when I applied because I was only applying with like 20 something units. I think its worth appealing because honestly, it isn’t much work and the return could be so great.

I was even invited to Regents and had my FA processed =/.

Did you all have TAP?

and who did you guys call to see if your appeal was recieved? I’m worried because I didn’t put ATT: Appeals Committee, but I think UCLA knows where to send it.

wow, whatasunnyday. . . what’s your major?
yeah, i think i’m going to do it. i just don’t want to be rejected twice! it was hard the first time…

bluearrowil, i do not have tap. how. unfortunate.

i’m still debating whether i should stay at ccc another year and finish TAP courses… nAHHHHH
