My 1st was CS 2nd was aerospace… do u hav any idea if they have deffrerd from both the choices …or one choice is out of queation
@InfiniteLibrary, please don’t despair. I think UIUC is very competitive for OOS and International - in that order. Fo in-state or even OOS (and not international) its difficult but not outright impossible for CS.
@USUG21 - the tone of the mail implies that they are still considering for the first choice and hence deferred but one can never be sure.
Accepted!

what were your stats @USUG21
@USUG21 I’ve seen a lot of people get waitlisted but they aren’t sure if they are accepted or not for their second choice major. It’s probably more based off of your first choice

To the accepted international students, could you please post how much financial aid you’ve received? It would be of great help. Thanks and congrats!

Can someone explain how I got accepted to COE comp sci but didn’t get accepted as a james scholar?
@SubBob I am international! :((
@swolff99 James Scholar is offered to top 12% based on scores (according to its description), which an admission to CS of CoE is probably based on the holistic view of your qualification.
There is no way to evaluate your situation if you don’t provide an specifics of your scores/EC, etc.
How hard is it to switch majors in the COE at UIUC??
If I was deferred, will UIUC consider letters of intent?

Reflection
Strengths: Dedicated, Obvious Purpose, and Work Experience
Weaknesses: One Dimensional, Low GPA, and lack of a logical second choice major.
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: GPA, my entire application will either impress the A.O. or make them laugh.
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected:
Accepted:
Hofstra (Presidential Scholarship)
Waiting:
Purdue
TAMU
UT Austin
UMich
Georgia Tech (lol)
SUNY Buffalo
RIT
Rejected:
UIUC
Although I didn’t expect to get into UIUC, this definitely makes me more anxious about my top choices (TAMU and Purdue).
@afluffymuffin Best of luck!
