I just figured out how I have not completed my profile in myillini. I submitted the application before the EA deadline; would this affect my application?

- What are the early computer science and gen ed classes like? Are they large lecture halls, a take notes then take test format or are they more hands on and involved?
- How much support is there for getting work experience in your major while you're in school? You mentioned people getting impressive interships, was it UIUCs engineering reputation and connections that helped them get there?
- How's the computer science building?
@Goatboy76 Current CS freshman here! The introductory CS class (CS125) is a large “interactive” lecture where you work through a set of problems with a professor and a partner student. There are no tests but weekly quizzes and programming hw (machine problems).
In terms of work experience, engineers (and especially CS majors) definitely get a ton of attention from recruiters. At the career fair I saw google/twitter/microsoft/apple/amazon as well as quora/airbnb/retailmenot/wolframalpha/etc. Engineers also have a decent job breaking into elite banking/consulting companies like citadel/jump for trading, Bain for consulting, and goldman for banking, so the alum network is pretty expansive expecially in the chicago/sf bay area.
The CS building is nice, but there aren’t very many tables and seats to do work. I’d say its the second best building on campus behind the ECE building.

SAT: 1270 (Yes, I know it’s really bad).
SAT Math 2: 700
I’ve got a great GPA: 9.0/10
Essays were the best that I’ve ever written.
And my extra-curricular activities are AWESOME. Not to brag but they really are.
What do you guys think? fingers crossed

I kinda already know I’m gonna be rejected. COE- CS. So not all that excited.
9.4 CGPA | 1450 SAT( EBWR-660, MATH-790) | Student Council President, Top 10 in country in National Level Coding Contest, other CS related ECs |
But I know my SATs aren’t high enough for COE CS. So no hype.

1450 isn’t high enough?? I got 1470…
Check out last year’s thread. 35 ACTs and even perfect scores got rejected.
But there’s always a chance the adcom might get drunk and accept accidentally.
