@fallenwinter yea UMass was always my first choice but this wait is killing me and I feel that I’ll be behind everyone else who already got into UMass in looking for roommates and dorming this late in May.
@Darksand99 Well the housing application doesn’t go up until June 1 so I don’t think you are behind
My spire says…waitlist confirmed
@seamus123 did your Spire change recently or was it like that for long time now? Because mine has always said “Waitlist Offered.” Either way it looks like the have not gotten my confirmation letter yet even though I put it in the mailbox the day I got it too
Call their office. My DD’s spire account had changed a week to 10 days after we mailed out her letter.
has anyone heard back?!
This is it everyone, we should be hearing sometime this week if we got off the waitlist! Starting Monday May 18th, its mid-May. Good Luck to all!!!
Has anyone hear back this week?
Nothing
It’s unbelievable how we still haven’t been told anything yet! I assumed when they said mid-May they meant it, but at the very least if they aren’t gonna take anyone of the list then they should let us all know now because its about to be June. At this point we’re better off going to the schools we committed to because UMass is playing around now.
I called yesterday and spoke to a nice woman. She said the class seems to be complete and it is unlikely they’ll be calling anyone from the waitlist. She did say, however, that if things move at other schools a few kids could decide not to come and then they would call. She thought that was unlikely though. Just go to where you committed to and get excited about it. If you don’t like it, you can go to UMass in the spring. Good luck.
Well then. Penn State it is. I was expecting UMass to at least take some people off the list but oh well.
There’s always spring 2016 transfer but for now its SUNY Geneseo for me good luck to everyone else
Well @Darksand99 I was really rooting for you to get into UMass (just as I was for @LBad96). But both of you have found colleges that will be great for you – LBad is going to UNC-Wilmington and you’re going to a solid college in a nice college town (I went to college upstate NY many moons ago). As with @barcafan30, my son has committed to Penn State – he has already completed NSO and moves into his dorm room a month from tomorrow! Good luck to everyone – I bet down the road you won’t even remember applying to UMass!
@brucemag thanks for the mention and congrats to your son on Penn State, a school that I have a great respect for. Best of wishes and luck to him
@Darksand99 @barcafan congrats to both of you on your official commitments!! Bruce is right, you guys won’t even remember UMass years from now. Seeing as I got into UNC Wilmington first, I probably wouldn’t have even gone to UMASS anyways in all honesty. Wish nothing but the very best for both of you
Hey guys, I’m bumping this thread in hopes at least 1 or 2 of you are still active. If you are, please do me a favor and answer my questions.
- Did you do the Spring transfer?
- What was the process like (did you transfer from another college or a CC or just took a gap semester).
- What were your midyear senior grades and GPA (if you can remember) vs. your end of year senior grades and GPA?
- What's social life like as a spring freshman transfer? This is by far the least important aspect but I'm still curious.
If I get a response, many, many thanks.
