Official UMICH class of 2014 Accepted Thread!!!!

def not every 3 weeks check in the morning…i heard duke is releasing every thursday now since the deadline is approching for when they hve to notify everyone

so are priority people either accepted or deferred, not rejected?

Actually, they may still be on the Every other Thursday schedule, just bumped back a day or two because of Turkeyday. So, just think of Friday as the new Thursday, or maybe Monday. That actually sounds plausible here.

Do you first find out through e-mail, wolverine access, or in your mailbox

Wolverine Access, e-mail, mailbox is the order.

What is the “Respond Now” button for? To accept a spot in the class right?

Yes. I believe you also have to send in your deposit if you decide to respond now, but my memory is hazy. But I do remember not clicking that button for a month or two after I was accepted to find out my other decisions first.

does anyone know by when we have to respond? because to my knowledge the rest of the schools i’ve applied to, i wont be hearing back form until march. and i want to be able to know my other choices before i lock this one in, and i dont want to miss a deadline or anything.

i feel like such a dumbass for not checking the wolverine website sooner hhah. accepted! however there was some comments about the UC’s being much more lenient to in-state students which is true, but a 3.6 and average-ish SAT/ACT will rarely get an in-state student in at a top UC like Berkeley and LA.

Omgomgomg!

I’m in as an out of stater!

I applied as a complete reach and my heart stopped when i saw “congratulations!”

go blue!!

Congratulations, DS!!! That is great news!!!

@ds: congrats!

what were your stats like

congratulations to all that got in!

last documents were received on 11/7 so I wasn’t too convinced I’d have a decision yet…but it sure is frustrating.

Son just admitted to Engineering with a stated interest in Aerospace Engineering (Astronautics). All his materials were entered in Embark (the online application) with the last to be entered, his teacher recommendation on 10/31. This showed up on WA dated 11/5. App was completed and submitted on 10/28. Congratulations to all who’ve been admitted. To all those still in limbo, good luck and Go Blue!

Congrats, Balthezar, to your son. DS’s teacher didn’t meet the deadline for the letter of rec, so we will be waiting for a while for Michigan.

Congrats to everyone’s who has been accepted so far and good luck to those still waiting to find out!

GO BLUE!

Ds: unless you were lying on a previous post, a 3.98 UW GPA does not make UMich a reach…Congrats though and GL with Cornell next week…!!!

Sooo…I have a question.

Sent my EA app in toward end of October. BUT, requested transcripts, recs, etc. beginning October…School swears it was all sent out (by snail mail) on October 15.

On Wolverine access, it says my recs/trnscripts were RECEIVED on November 13.

In order to be considered for EA, Michigan website says it all has to be POSTMARKED by 11/1. But WA only reflects the date they logged the materials in, e.g., they made it to the file.

How can I know whether they consider my materials timely? And if it takes stuff 28 DAYS to reach the file, through no fault of mine, what can I do about this?

Anyone else have this problem?

Eivita3: You have until May 1 to click the “accept” button, unless you receive a merit scholarship, in which case they’ll attempt to ask you to commit by feb. 15 (if you receive a late Dec. $ offer). However, legally you do not have to decide until May 1 when you’ve seen all your offers and packages. But if you get a scholarship, you may wish to “accept” and pay the $200 conditionally, and then cancel, loosing the deposit if your whole FA package isn’t as strong as another school’s or sufficient for your needs.

thanks a lot, kmccrindle.
