*Official UNC Fall 2010 Transfer Thread*

They dont accept fax or email, only physical. Also if I went home tomorrow (a 4 hour train ride) and got it myself and physically sent it, it’d take a while since I live in New York. How much would overnight cost?

This is complete ********!

that is horrible, I mean if you do have a copy I say you email it to them (so they will at least have it and can look it over) and then send it physically so it will buy you some time

uncsoph, yeah I explained that I was accepted to a special/selective program. Within that program we took very high caliber level courses. We were recruited from various schools in the US. It doesn’t affect my main GPA but I’m sure it is calculated within my overall GPA (if so then it’ll lower it). I made a few A’s but some of the classes were extremely hard (although I did well in all of them). On paper I think pretty much everyone that posted in this thread should get accepted… but if it doesn’t work out for any of us, just consider it ‘fate’ so to speak & have some sort of back up plan :P.

They already have my HS transcript, so sending it again would be useless… but if I send it again and my HS counselor doesn’t sign it or whatever I’m *ing screwed. WHY is UNC the only school that is **ing about my HS transcript? This really says a lot about the school. The administration at least.

@TaggartNY - What the hell, they’re telling you this 2 days before decisions? Wow.

If you go to the USPS website you should be able to determine when you need to mail it by and at which post office to get it there by the next day. Overnight Express mail would probably cost around $20… 2 day is ~$5 with Priority. I hope you get it figured out.

God dam… just found out that my application was been withdrawn too, *** i have everything they need i check it several times a day. I’m trying to contact the office, but they are too busy to pick up a call

Is there a set time on Friday that they will notify us? Is it possible they will notify us tomorrow? TaggartNY I hope everything works out for you.

Did you guys get the green dot or whatever in your MyUNC Portal saying that all of your items were successfully submitted and that your application was complete? This is ridiculous!

@Thurston12 - Apparently after 5pm… conveniently after their office closes, ha!

omg thats crazy! now im freaking out…i hope that doesnt happen to mine!

thats unbelievable that they’re telling you now! i would call them and ask for an explanation or, if this affects your decision, i would appeal it.

@meiliem ahhh!! Why do they have to be late this year? April 9th, 2009 by 5pm people knew their decisions…

I know, it’s making me rather nervous. Either they’ve been slacking off a bit or there’s a *****load more applications this year. Or they’re admitting less… :(

Feel so badly for you guys. How did they notify you that your applications had been withdrawn - e-mail or via the portal?? That’s terrible.

wait… if you guys had the green dot, then this should not be happening… was their anything left on your to do list??

i have a sophomore friend at school here and she applied to unc for transfer last year. she told me to check every day because she found out a day early, so you never know. they never emailed her or said anything, she said it just came up on her portal. we may get the word tomorrow. (she got rejected, but she also had a 2.7 college gpa)

I would NOT have known my application had been withdrawn if I didn’t check MyUNC religiously. It was solely by chance.

and yes, it is very convenient that they are giving us the decisions right after the office closes for the weekend…i think they planned that pretty strategically

2.7 GPA is quite low. I think as long as your GPA is above the ‘average’ accepted <insert your=“” class=“” here=“”> then you should be fine.</insert>

wow…that’s absolutely unbelievable! i hope you guys get it straightened out! but, like moneyisthemotive said, did you have a green dot next to yours after you submitted it?

they did that to me at the very beginning. it wasnt withdrawn, but after i submitted it, they told me it was complete. several days later, i went on and saw that it was incomplete and i had to send in a “courses in progress” sheet. no where was that mentioned, and had i not checked, my application would still be incomplete because they never called or emailed or anything.

i wonder if they are trying to weed people out by seeing who checks their portal? haha seems far fetched, but you never know…i have heard about admission staffs doing very odd things like that…

Yeah, it does seem like they’re trying to weed people out… less applications for them to be bothered with, I suppose.
