*Official UNC Fall 2010 Transfer Thread*

A courses in progress sheet? I didn’t send one in but it says my application is complete…did anyone else have to send in that courses in progress thing?

yea, i found it really odd, too. im wondering if they wanted to see if my courses would transfer over, which they all do. but it was really odd. they wanted me to list my courses as they appear on my transcript, as well as course descriptions. they already had my transcript though, with all of my courses listed on it. NOWHERE was this mentioned on the website or by admissions when i talked to them, so i find it really bizarre. i hope thats not a bad thing…everything has me so paranoid now! but yea, my application was incomplete until i emailed them the courses in progress document

No I didn’t have the green dot actually. I called and inquired about this a few weeks ago, and they told me that they just hadn’t updated the thing yet and to wait another 2 weeks at least. I did, and now I get this.

Now that I think about it, it could be my high school’s fault. I literally sent my HS transcript FIVE times though. I find it hard to believe that all of those were screwed up. Also, I applied to other schools, all of whom did not have any problems with my HS transcript. ***

Oh and in addition - 4/5 times I call them the phone is busy for very long periods of time.

I didn’t send in a courses in progress sheet either. Weird.

ok so i just called and they said it was normal and that they wanted a better picture of the courses im currently taking. they prob say that its normal about everything though so i honestly dont know what to think

As much as I hate to say this, my opinion of UNC is changing a tad. At least of the administration. Every other school (5 others) has been as smooth as butter for admission decisions thus far.

Are you taking any unusual courses this semester? Maybe that could be why they wanted that courses in progress list…If you are taking unusual classes (besides the usual intro bio/math/english stuff) maybe that could be why.

no…

im taking first semester french (LF111), communications writing (CO201), writing and research seminar (WR150), and intro to sociology (SO101) - all of which i found listed on the transfer equivalencies calculator on the unc website that were specific to boston university. wow i legit have no idea why they would want that and its really freaking me out. im so on edge right now haha this is not ok.

honestly Crand, i don’t think that you have to worry about that at all… If they were sketch about something on your app, chances are they would just deny you without any second thought haha… the fact they asked for something else is not necessarily a bad thing… and what the hell, we find out after 5pm… that’s gonna be a long friday…

please tell me someone else had to send a courses in progress in??

:/

i know but it just seems so weird. sorry guys, im like freaking out. i think im going to go insane by friday :(

That’s really weird…but I’m a little worried that they didn’t ask me for one haha Friday can’t come soon enough

I wouldn’t worry about it. Maybe it’s just a random thing they do.

Ahhh I’m trying to log on to check the status of my application and when I click “View Official Test Scores, Outstanding Items, and Application Status” it pops up an error message! I’ve tried like 7 times :/

How did you guys(and gals) know your application had been withdrawn or that you needed a course report???

Thanks! And good luck to everyone!

Oh, dear goodness we could know by Friday??! I contracted a nasty virus on my laptop though, and its been in our tech department since Monday… the only upside is that its saved me from religiously checking my UNC portal and this thread every fifteen minutes to see if anyone has heard anything haha :)

Wishing you all luck, cos I’m sure you’re on pins and needles like me.
BUT FRIDAY IS SO SOON!

Oh man. I just found out I might be meeting with President Obama tomorrow. Talk about a week of anticipation.

2 days and 50 minutes until we UNC makes us or breaks us haha.

^^??? what? is that a joke?

How can they just withdraw your application without any notification?! this is so **** wierd. At least we paid the application fee! God damn it.
