[] Income Bracket: below 50k
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.):first generation [/ul] Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: recs, essays, my passion for uchicago
[] Weaknesses: TEST SCORES math score to be specific
[] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I think I was deferred because of the 530. I could have been flat out rejected with that sort of score so I’m looking at the deferral as hope. I’m going to retake SAT (and study my butt off) and I’m going to take ACT to see if that test works out better for me. I think with that improvement I have a pretty good chance of being accepted RD. Obviously they saw something in me.
[] What would you have done differently?: studied more for SAT. I should’ve gone ham with practice tests (well i will now) [/ul][/list]
Other Factors:
General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations, etc: Well good luck to all those who got in~ I’m going to email my admissions counselor and tell him that uchicago is still my first choice and that I will work on improving my test scores. Hopefully I hear a favorable decision RD and if accepted RD I’ll see you all next year :)
