@Iza2019, your test scores are very strong!
Did you apply to UChicago last year? Also can you be a little more elaborate on your ecs?
@PrincessMorales yeah got waitlisted (literally the most shoddily put together application ever)
College grades > test scores tho. The only thing that makes me stand out as an applicant is my success in college perhaps and that I really do think I’m a good fit for UChicago, and I think that came through.
My EC’s are really typical, Captain of academic teams, Captian/Leadership for community things/organizations. For college, I’m not going to specify too much in fear of being identified, but I’m only involved with 2 things, but got to do pretty cool things in both (one multicultural group, one other very exclusive, very prolific student group that gets a ton of funding) and expressed that in my common app (which I later found 3 errors in, cringe).
Anyone interested in uncommon essay exchanging? I know the process is all over, but in the 3 days I spent on my application, I worked quite hard on my UChicago creative and common app. Any feedback/conversation would be good to satisfy my residual nervousness about this whole experience.
Yeah sure, I’d love to exchange!
@Iza2019 I would love to give feedback if you give me feedback.
Hey everyone, Are SATs really important for transferring to Uchicago as a junior? cause i don’t have really impressive SATs
Are we supposed to submit the midterm report? It is not listed in the portal.
@jwanabust “NOTE: We do NOT require the Mid-Term Report from the Common Application.” So it sounds like you can, but don’t have to. ← from https://collegeadmissions.uchicago.edu/apply/applicants/transfer
@TNIU94 Probably not as important as essays and other factors, though good scores would be ideal.
Anyone want to trade essays?
Does anyone know if UChicago gives out likely letters for transfer students?
In the “ask an admissions counselor” thread, it mentions that likely letters are sent out during RD period. I highly doubt they’d send them to transfer applicants, except in very special cases. What are your guesses for when the decisions come out?
I contacted admissions, and they said early May…
Based on previous years, it looks like it will be before the tenth. I’m guessing either Friday the 6th or Monday the 9th.
(probably) Less than three weeks left! I got an email about submitting missing financial aid stuff two days ago, did anyone else? @PrincessMorales did you ever end up exchanging essays with anyone? I’ll read yours and give feedback if you want.
They ask me yesterday to update my missing financial information.
What year tax returns did they ask you for?
They asked me for 2014 tax returns and w2 forms. I submitted them using the “upload materials” box on the application status page. You?
That’s weird. Umm @Zieggy and @vesperan do you mind uploading your stats? I find it very odd for them to be requesting financial aid documents if they didn’t feel the need to have them…this might mean you were accepted and they wanted to see how much aid to give you?
I would not look that far into it. Those guys were missing documents and Chicago requested them.
@CS3000 I’ve heard of these stories before, when a school would request financial aid documents this late in the process and then they get accepted…I’m not saying that I’m absolutely positive that they were already accepted, I’m saying that Chicago requested them for a reason, and that reason may very well be because they may have been admitted.
@PrincessMorales thats definitely interesting, I just imagine that its an email they send to everyone who hasn’t submitted all the materials required for reviewing an application or financial aid in their entireties.
