Reflection:
I would not change anything about my application and am happy I applied. Cards on the table, the original reason I applied was to piss off my sister because it was her number 1 and she didnt get in, but now it is definitely an option I will consider. I wish I could have sent in my november SAT but I did not get the results in time. it made my super score a 1420 (700 CR, 720 M). I know 30 points is not a big difference, but i feel like when an admissions officer sees 14… instead of 13… it makes a difference.
Other Schools Accepted to:
8 of them so far (applied to 16, heard back from 8)- Boston College, Northeastern (honors), NC State (honors), University of Alabama, UNC Asheville, SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Stony Brook, and obviously Maryland (scholars)
Good Luck to everyone applying, and if you are reading this a year from now looking to see if you will get into Maryland, take it from someone who has fretted and worried over every last detail of their college applications and was refreshing the page to my student portal on the minute to see my decision, don’t do that haha. It isn’t worth getting yourself worked up for. Wherever you end up, that was where you were supposed to go. So if you do not get into your top choice, do not sweat it, it is all a part of your plan.
@LI516IT Congratulations on being admitted to both UMD and the scholars program! I love your reflection statements. Best of luck to you in your college career!
