Official University of Michigan Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

@vt2umich Hahaha, sadly not. I applied to LSA. I hope you and MaxSDax get decisions quickly, though!

@Maziodyne: Thanks, and congrats.

@Maziodyne, congrats on getting in!

I fear us engineers on average at least another 2-3 weeks.

@Maziodyne do you mind me asking what your gap was? I have a horrid horrid gap which is why I’m worried. I’m hoping a mid year report with 2 a’s, 2 A-'a and 1B will help me with admissions.

@Mook215 Don’t be discouraged! You may be pleasantly surprised! If you’re asking about my GPA, it was a 3.54 last semester.

@Maziodyne Wow, congratulations! I haven’t received my decision, yet. I am very anxious but I am almost certain I will be rejected

hey guys! UM class of 2017 here, CONGRATS to all accepted! to those still waiting, don’t give up just yet. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you.

I’m posting in case any of you are looking for housing on campus. I need to give my room in North Quad (a dorm) away because I’m switching to live off-campus since that’s cheaper. UM only allows transfers to take my room because North Quad is one of the few no-freshmen dorms.

this is sweet for you because it guarantees you a spot on central campus, not north campus which is the worst place possible to live, and it also guarantees you a room in the best, most wanted dorm on central. I’m seriously not exaggerating…ask ANYONE and they’ll tell you NQ is the best. if you go through the normal housing lottery, you won’t get a room in NQ because they filled up fast. I really want to keep my room but financial issues man.

please hit me up if you’re interested! I’ll gladly answer any questions. the room is a single with a bathroom shared by only 1 other person who lives in a different single. the price is the same as any room in any dorm on either campus, and the links below have pictures.

My son got accepted on the 25th as well. He received

My son got accepted on the 25th as well. He received an e-mail notification, with the email notification arriving by mail yesterday.

Quick stats:

High School GPA: 4.06 (3.8 unweighted)
ACT: 29
College GPA 3.4.(MSU) for 1st Semester of Freshman Year (Would have been 3.8 without Calc. III)
He’ll be an incoming Sophomore.

We were honestly thinking that he’d have to wait another year before he could transfer.

@coney2013, which college did your son get accepted to? Congratulations btw, I would’ve thought the same.

@MaxSDax, He was accepted into LS&A, but will try to transfer into COE at some point in time. He applied directly to the COE last year and was waitlisted for the longest period of time before finally getting rejected. He is convinced that he would have been accepted into LS&A and was determined not to make the same mistake again.

To those who have been accepted: Where/how did the decision show up in Wolverine Access?

Is the Wolverine Access down for anyone else or it is just me? I am hoping to hear something today or on Monday – the wait is literally killing me now. :frowning:
Also, does it improve the acceptance chances if one does not apply for a financial aid?

Wolverine Access goes down for everyone from 4am to 6am on Saturdays.

I sent my application probably January 30th or something really close to the deadline, and I’m still waiting. The wait is killing me, but it shouldn’t take much longer since March is already over, so I’m really hoping next week I get an answer (a positive one).

In 2012, I applied for the fall (as a transfer, too) and by this time I already knew the decision (denied), so I’m hoping that the fact that I haven’t heard anything yet might be a good thing.

I’m crossing my fingers.

first post. Just got my acceptance today. pretty happy lol

@orgo1111, Which college did you get accepted too?

I’m starting to get nervous because computer science requires an additional linear algebra course as part of their prereqs, and I will not have it done by the end of this semester. Called to see if I could do it over the summer, and they said that they only care about courses that will directly transfer into the course and no school near me has a course that transfers to that course. Sort of depressed now.

Anyone else apply for housing yet? I’m kinda’ disappointed, I was looking at the three places left on central campus and within like ten minutes they’d been taken. I still got a double in Bursley though. Meh about north campus but at least it’s not Northwood.

Hi,

Quick question – Wasn’t Michigan supposed to inform every applicant of the decision by 1 April? So everyone who didn’t hear, including myself, is just gonna get a rejection some random day? :frowning: I hope not. fingers crossed

@banker92 I don’t think so lol. I’ve heard dates ranging from “by early april” to may, as far as transfer students go. No idea how college (ie LSA, COE) factors in. I hope we all hear soon, though.
