Official University of Michigan Transfer Thread for Fall 2015

@timrichards‌ I know. I couldn’t believe it, but I live by myself and I’m 25 so my parents aren’t factored into the financial aid process. Almost as exciting as getting accepted lol.

Hey guys, I just discovered this forum and I have a question. Im a sophomore who applied to the LSA school and I got accepted. My question is how long does it take most of you to hear back after you sent in your application?
I sent mine in on either the 27th or 28th of January and I got an acceptance email in my inbox a week later. This was also the week with the snow day.
Could there be any reason why I was accepted so fast? Its just something that I’ve been wondering about.

@umichecon I have no idea but count your blessings…some of us are still trying to get our applications marked as complete…

Hey guys, I have a problem with accessing to Wolverine. I just cannot get into this website. It keeps saying that Wolverine Access Student Business is limited to matriculated students with a UM uniqname log-in. Anyone has same problem?

I called the admission office and they send decisions are released in batches. Another batch is supposed to be released soon, she said she “thinks it’ll be a week or two or so” until the next batch is released.
So tons of good lucks to us all(:

Accepted today! LSA-Economics
the ‘view decision’ link popped on WA
All materials received by 2/10, application date: 1/31
I chatted with the admission rep a week ago and was told my app was marked as completed on 2/23
International student, 62 credits, 30 pending. GPA:3.63

I got an email last Thursday from the admission office that they want my midterm grades. Did anyone else get an email like this???

@amethyst2 Do all of your credits transfer? or is it only 60?

Called the admissions office today and my application still hasnt been marked as complete yet. He was very helpful in saying that they’re trying to complete a lot of apps this week but that the process takes a while because they calculate your GPA and have the credit evaluation, then its marked as complete.

@umichecon‌ I haven’t received my credit evaluation yet, so i am not sure how many of my credits are transferring.

@shuttlepilotND so even though WA says my app was completed on 2/2, that’s just saying they have all my materials? They still have to do the credit eval and GPA and stuff in order for it to be totally complete?

@NCXfer‌ you mean under “view credentials?” that just means that they received those materials on those dates. Mine says they received my hs transcript and my college transcript on 2/20, but my application as a whole hasnt been marked as complete yet. So once they calculate the GPA and the credits, then they mark it as complete for it to be evaluated then they send you a descion, which is like 4-5 weeks after its marked as complete. The auditing process includes a calculated GPA from your transcripts and the credit evauation. Thats what admissions told me today.

He also said that sometimes it takes longer for an application to be marked complete if they haven’t done course credit evaluations for the school from which your transferring from. Mine has taken so long because im from California and they have to evaluate my classes to see if they transfer. Where as they know which classes would transfer to umich from lets say michigan state because a lot of people transfer from there.

@shuttlepilotND Mine doesn’t say complete or incomplete anywhere, it just says no holds and says “application date: 2/2” I was under the impression that is when your app was marked complete. I called the admissions office and the lady said my app was complete but that it hadn’t been marked as complete… so I’m guessing they’re still doing the credit evaluation then.

Also it makes sense that its taking so long because my CC is in North Carolina lol.

@NCXfer‌ yea, unfortunately you have to call admissions to see if your app is marked as complete, i hope its marked complete this week.

For anyone who got a course credit email inquiring about the ENGR C++ requirement to fulfill the ENGR 101 requirement. I was clicking around on the umich credit transfer database and I found a link that said ‘Recent courses evaluated’ and I clicked on that and I saw that they evaluated my classes. I’m taking MATLAB at the college listed right now and I can see that they have said it doesn’t fulfill their ENGR 101 pre-req. But I took C++ last semester at a different college and THANKFULLY that one transfers! I was heartbroken that my MATLAB class doesn’t transfer and I thought it was going to be an auto reject, but then I saw my C++ class and I was so thankful  So if you’re worried about it transferring you may want to check that and see if its been evaluated.

@ShuttlepilotND‌ Where did you find this?

Oh, I found it! I’m glad to see my C++ course fulfills the requirement. The link is here http://apps.engin.umich.edu/equivalencies/courses/recentlyupdated

I still have not received my credit evaluation since being accepted. Anyone else in the same boat?
