I almost didn’t bother to apply with my average gpa, but it just goes to show that extracurricular and essays play a huge part in the decision. For any people reading this looking to transfer to U-M, or any school really, it’s important to do as many extra-curriculars as you possibly can in your free time. Especially things related to your interest. I had an insane year trying to keep up with both classes and all my clubs and activities, but ultimately it was fun, satisfying, and definitely worth it.
@gwoonie I sent in my FAFSA a couple of weeks ago, my CSS about one week ago, and just updated my FAFSA couple of days ago. UMich sent me an email with an estimated finaid award notice yesterday morning. I had to access WA to look at it.
Hay! Congratulation to all who have been accepted! I am a freshman at UofM and love it. I have a room in Alice Lloyd for 2015-2016 and am looking to reassign it. Alice Lloyd is one of the best dorms on campus and has a great location. I lived in Alice Lloyd my freshman year and it was great. This is a great opportunity to get a room on central guaranteed. Let me know if anyone is interested!
@NCXfer I know, right? I kept seeing forum posts about how the uni is so expensive and I was really expecting to pay full price for being an OOS junior transfer.
Will any of you guys be asking for an extension of the enrollment deadline? I read somewhere on here that schools don’t mind doing that because it shows you’re still interested. I’m still waiting on a few schools/FA to come back…
@NCXfer I’m waiting on a few other schools to release decisions mid-May, but I’ll be paying the UMich deposit. If anything else is sent after that appeals to you, I think you can just cancel enrollment. Only thing is they won’t refund you.
