****OFFICIAL University of Pennsyvlania CLASS OF 2019 ED Applicants Discussion Thread****

12/15

Does Penn continuously make updates of application materials on the applicant portal, or does it wait until all applicants’ materials have been processed and then update each applicant’s portal? I have some paper documents mailed to Penn and they have been marked as “Awaiting” for over 3 weeks and I have no idea whether Penn has received them. Will Penn, like some other colleges, send confirmation emails to applicants saying that they have processed all materials and that applicants who still miss documents should resubmit these materials by a certain date?

@magicwandyyy‌ if you check your applicant portal it updates itself. Penn just got my school report today

Just got my LL for Wharton. Hope to see some of you there.

@PowerPointer‌ are you a recruited athlete?? Congrats btw!

@powerpointer this early??? what did it say?

Congrats! Did you receive an interview before you got your LL and when? When did you submit your application? Thanks.

Congrats! R u an athlete or a national winner for something? How did u get it so early?

Son got his Wharton Likely Letter last week. Yes, he’s a recruited athlete.

@Coolboy1997 Congrats!, Did you receive an interview and did they update your applicant’s portal? Are you a athlete? Thanks.

So does it mean that the admission office starts to send out the acceptance letter now?

Congrats guys! But I’m just wondering, if most admitted students receive a letter so early, then what will the admissions office do for the following month until the decision date? I don’t think they have started reading my application because there are still things awaiting on my applicant portal. :(

I’m so confused…so MOST accepted applicants receive a likely letter? What?

Most accepted applicants DO NOT get likely letters. That’s the whole point of the letter. It’s saying that you are one of very few that are going to be accepted when the decisions are released. He’s probably saying most recruited athletes will be getting a letter. Just think about it- the admissions officers were not able to read through 5,400 apps and make their decisions all in a little over two weeks. That’s impossible.

By the way, did anyone else get a financial aid receipt in their email?

Me!

@Coolboy1997‌ @HvePassion‌ Coolboy is the same one who said that the ED deadline was extended…

Lol what a ■■■■■.

Are any of you still waiting for an interview email? I spoke with some alumni in September who are interviewers and they said I should be getting an interview if I applied ED, but I haven’t gotten a notification yet. I do really want an interview and I know you can’t request them.

Well I had my Penn interview yesterday and I can definitely say it’s more informative than evaluative. It really depends on the availablity of alumni in your region, so it’s really not anything you can control. I think interviews are still be offered, so don’t worry!
