****OFFICIAL University of Pennsyvlania CLASS OF 2019 ED Applicants Discussion Thread****

it’s so soon! i have a feeling that signing into the portal to get my decision will ultimately be anticlimactic :frowning:

@Much2learn‌ You’re right. Canadians are a very very self selective group!

I’m so happy I got accepted! No more worrying!

@qwefssa‌ congrats! Quest bridge?

@HvePassion Yep!

@qwefssa stats?

I hope this makes people in this group feel better.
I know of non-athelete, non- URM, non- legacy students who have gotten into Penn with scores around a 1900 and even lower. Acceptances for ordinary students with lower scores can happen! I live 20 minutes away from Penn and I know a lot of people who go there. They aren’t all 4.0, 2400 students. Relax and let fate play its course.

Ya but Penn also tends to favor Pennsylvania residents…

Either way I guess he’s trying to say not to rule out the possibility.

The whole admissions process at American universities is so unique that it makes the decision entirely unpredictable. So we should just wait and see. No need to freak out.

@magicwandyyy‌ idk I think most of us want to not freak out, but the apprehension and stress really just sneak their way in.

@midwestbandie‌ @BigBadBull‌
First off, I’m a she. And yes, it is true that Penn favors Pennsylvania residents but I’ve also seen high scoring Pennsylvania residents not get in. Low scores can get in from anywhere.

I thinks its mainly just Philadelphia itself where its really considered a “hook”

Has everyone’s November SAT scores been received by Penn yet? On your applicant portal does it show the date 11/23/14 next to the SAT score sections? Mine still says 11/19/14, the date that I sent my pre-November scores. How do I know if they have received my new score or not? I’m sort of freaking out haha.

Hey guys,
I am having a problem logging into the PFAS. I think this might be a sign of rejection! It says that authentication failed. Maybe this means that I am not in the system anymore indicating rejection. Can someone else check this out?
Try and log on to the PFAS website!

@millian I’m 100% sure that’s not a sign of rejection. But I logged in fine.

@Millian by saying the PFAS do you mean the student portal?

By PFAS, I mean try and click “Financial Aid” through the student portal. I am getting an XML error for some reason. It is saying that authentication failed. If Financial Aid removed me from their system, idk…

@Millian‌ My PFAS says the same thing yours does…hopefully we’re wrong but it makes sense that if we’ve been removed from their system…

@Millian @1600mPenn that’s weird, I tried to log in and I also cannot reach it but it doesn’t say an XML error or that authentication failed. What did it say when you guys tried to log in??
