****OFFICIAL University of Pennsyvlania CLASS OF 2019 ED Applicants Discussion Thread****

Provide a screenshot. Mine gives me an error message saying with code saying that XML file has no formatting or something. I opened a ticket with the financial aid people but I don’t think it means rejection anymore. Guidance counselor said he would call about it as well so no big deal. Jesus… 11 more days

@Hvepassion. … Double check for me. Try and grt into PFAS. I am sure this is an error for everyone now. I just googled the error code. It is a common error code

@Much2learn‌ Perhaps, but than again, I know that they will feel less bad rejecting a qualified Canadian applicant because they know that he/she will get into one of the top schools here in Canada and will pay a MUCH cheaper price here in Canada whereas an international applicant from a less developed country won’t have the same educational opportunities home.

also when I click on the PFAS (which I didn’t need to fill out since I’m Canadian so not sure if this is particularly relevant) it says the following message:

Penn Financial Aid Supplement (PFAS) for Undergraduates

This application can only be opened in one window at a time. Please close all open Internet browsers sessions and reconnect to the site using MyPenn Applicant Portal or directly from the SFS website (<a href=“Submit My Documents | Penn Student Registration & Financial Services| Penn Srfs”>http://www.sfs.upenn.edu/forms-apps/forms-ug.htm</a>) and log back in.

Anyone else getting this?

I was originallt getting that message I follow the instructions and I get an XML error.

Logged into PFAS fine.

“To access the Penn financial aid supplement, click here”

^ is it that one? If so, it worked for me.

Logged into PFAS fine as well.

i can login properly now as well. Temporary bug properly

@Remi56783 I got the same thing the first few times on my phone but then I could log on my computer

So like many of you I am overthinking this process way too much…but how often does the admissions office call your HS to ask for further info? They didn’t call mine, and I thought they would considering I haven’t sent them any senior year grades yet. Does this basically mean they’re not interested in me? Lol

they didn’t call mine

Decisions out in 11 days ahhh

@pianogeek I was wondering the same thing. I sent them my transcript without my first quarter grades. They can still my courses and independent study though. Is that a problem that they haven’t asked for the grades?

I am operating on the assumption that they did not need more information regarding my grades. I would not expect them to call your counselor unless you had an upward trend going into senior year or if you dipped at the end of junior year. Just my thoughts though.

Nah I have an upward trend and they didn’t ask for my grades. It can be because they are on the fence about you, don’t know enough about your school courses, who knows. All we can do now is wait for the final decision.

I did dip in junior year. But mainly because I took so many hard courses. Haha oh well

wait so just clarification: if i get in penn ED, does this mean they won’t rescind my acceptance depending on my grades for both 1st and 2nd semester senior year? (my school works in semesters) …cuz my grades are definitely not where i want them to be right now

Anyone have real tips on how to console yourself after receiving this rejection?

@pianogeek‌ the best bet is just admit to yourself that it clearly wasn’t meant to be and that you’ll be an immensely amazing asset to whatever other school you end up going to
