****OFFICIAL University of Pennsyvlania CLASS OF 2019 ED Applicants Discussion Thread****

No. Monday, Dec 15th.

@HvePassion‌ WOW. Your ECs dwarf mine. I think that you got in for sure (regardless of your GPA and scores).

@pianogeek‌ Just because Penn did not call your school does not mean that they were not interested in you. I guess it depends on your admissions representative. A little reassurance is that the people that got in from my school last year and the year before and the year before that did not get calls from UPenn. If anything, no news is good news.

@Millian Ahh it’s very kind of you to say that. I was lucky to have attended that first Model UN meeting in grade eight…really jumpstarted a lot of things.

@HvePassion‌ Kindness aside, I mentioned that I was not able to get access to my financial aid portal! When I was unable to get in, you were able to get in. I am fearing that my unable to get in indicates rejection and your able to get in indicates acceptance/deferral. OFC they fixed this bug right now … I hope I am reading too much into this. Anxiety is killing me. I need some Prozac or Zoloft!

Also! When you go into your Financial Aid, does your URL read Login; ? That true at the end is giving me hope.

@Millian No, I’m 100% sure that was a glitch. When I told you I was able to get in, I wasn’t talking about the Financial Aid Portal…I was assuming that it meant just the applicant portal. When I logged in later on, the financial aid portal worked for me, but by that time, it worked for quite a few other people. I think a better indicator may be the slow processing of some people’s November scores, while others had their scores processed almost immediately.

one sec lemme check

@HvePassion‌ lol … I just feel like there has to be some sort of clue.

Just figured out why the URL shows that. So when you first log in, it creates a cookie so that is what gives you access to the website again when you start from the admissions page. So initially when you get into the PFAS, the initial URL should read something like slateAuthentication … but then when you click that button that returns you to admissions, it skips that slateAuthentication step.

@Millian‌ Ah that makes sense! Just a few more days and we’ll see the result

I’m already to have mini nervous breakdowns… This is going to be a long week.

What are you guys doing to keep yourselves busy these days? And what’s on the US academic calendar nowadays? Winter break?

I’m probably gonna watch a lot of Netflix to be honest. Our new trimester just started a week ago and teachers aren’t planning much until after winter break which starts on the 23rd for me. Anyone else?

Ah, you guys are lucky! I have my mid-year/half-yearly exams these days.

I don’t know if I should go to school on D-Day. It comes out at 2PM, and if I don’t get in, I’ll hate to have to sit through class.

You’re lucky you have only school. My brain will force me to stay awake till 3 a.m. for the decision…
Then my folks will force me to take my physics exam 5 hours later.

Gonna be a very interesting day that.

@HvePassion‌ You should go to school. That’ll help you kill time. If you stay at home, you’ll be too nervous and seconds will seem like hours. That’s what I do whenever SAT scores are to be released.

Yeah that’s true. Maybe I’ll just stay until 1:20, go home, and see results.

@MalikBhai‌ Exactly the same situation for me. Except I have chemistry instead which is ten times worse than Physics.
