****OFFICIAL University of Pennsyvlania CLASS OF 2019 ED Applicants Discussion Thread****

Best of luck to everyone on Monday! I was deciding between Penn and Cornell for where to apply early. After visiting decided to go with Cornell and got accepted last Thursday  Monday is going to be a log day full of nerves; listening to music or talking to other people seemed to help the most. Best of luck and hopefully you receive the best news of your life at 5pm Monday!

@Coolboy1997 Iā€™m in the same boat as you! Good luck!!

This is so nerve-wracking! Happy waiting and best of luck everyone!

I think itā€™s super weird that in 2 days most of us will no longer be affiliated with Penn. We have been researching, visiting, falling in love with, and applying to Penn for months or even years. In less than 48 hours though, itā€™ll just be over. Or we will be living and learning there for 4 years and be affiliated for the rest of our lives XD The polar opposite possibilities are scary :(( Good luck!!!

@PhysicsisPhun15ā€Œ thereā€™s still transfer or graduate school, donā€™t forget :)

This wait is killing me!

thinking about this is making me want to throw up :-&

I keep daydreaming about opening the portal and seeing an acceptance letter.

@Coolboy1997ā€Œ Also deferred by MIT, the acceptance rate of 5% for regular decision is daunting.

@Kognition @Coolboy1997 Same, deferred by MIT. Iā€™m taking it as a sign that I was truly meant for Penn. :stuck_out_tongue:

I donā€™t even know why I bother to get my hopes up when I have a 3.7 gpa -____-

@pianogeekā€Œ I also keep daydreaming about opening that portal. School for me ends at 5:30, so Iā€™m still debating whether I should open it in school or wait until I get home.

Anyone else have multiple dreams about getting in? I had an extremely vivid one 2 nights ago. Hopefully thatā€™s a signā€¦ otherwise, itā€™s the closest I will have felt to getting in :stuck_out_tongue:

My horoscope for tomorrow says ā€œYou are finally getting close to a long-awaited goal. You have worked hard and strategized well. Now you can see what you want just on the horizon before you.ā€ Is this a sign? >.<

@indorilnerevarā€Œ I would wait til you get home, itā€™s too emotional to happen in public!

With a horoscope like that you probably donā€™t even need to open the letter, just show up in the fall!

@science2015 lol true!!

eight out of eleven people got into cornell from my schoolā€¦ talk about outrageous! this is making me so so nervous :-S

i got in with a 3.62ā€¦ i remembered freaking out about this last year haha

35 hours to goā€¦ not that iā€™m counting or anything

Itā€™s not that they are lowering their standards but Iā€™m sure they have a Questbridge quota just like they have a URM quota and Legacy quota and an LGBT quota etc etc etc. It may not be a hardline, but they probably need to accept a certain amount of QB kids and those kids are in a separate pool just like Legacies and URMs and LGBTs. All Iā€™m saying is, if youā€™re a wealthy WASP with a 1960 SAT and 29 ACT, even if you have stellar ECs and a great essay, your chances are 1<. If you have all of the aforementioned stats AND your a Questbridge, your chances are more like 50>.
