I’ve got a map going. Each day I track the location of people who have been accepted. I live in Chicago so it’s going to be a while…i’m so nervous.

Good luck to everyone who’s waiting on RD! :)

[ size=+2][ color=green][ b]Decision: Accepted[ /b][ /color][ /size]

[ b]Objective:[ /b][ list]
[ *] SAT I (breakdown): 1330/1600 1990/2400
[ *] ACT: Didn’t send (:
[ *] SAT II: 640 math 680 chem
[ *] Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.6
[ *] Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): School doesn’t rank
[ *] Senior Year Course Load: AP Psych, AP Bio, AP Comp Sci, AP Lit, Symph Orch, Gov/Econ

[ /list][ b]Subjective:[ /b][ list]
[ *] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): (Hip-Hop Dance Club), (Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra), (All State Orchestra), Ensemble Club, (Music Leader for Church)
[ *] Job/Work Experience: Game Design w/Cafe Scientific
[ *] Volunteer/Community service: (Cafe Scientific), Hospital Volunteering, NHS(I feel like this doesn’t really count)
[ *] Summer Activities: Art, Photography, Dance, Exploring, anything fun!
[ *] Essays: I wrote about my own personal life in my essay. It was a little scary going into it, since I wrote about my abusive childhood and the depression I went through (and that could definitely go both ways). But I basically wrote about how I was able to grow strong and resilient through several self-transcendence stages in the course of my life.
[ *] Teacher Recommendation: I think it was really strong. I never read it, but my teacher told me that I was one of her favorite pupils and wanted to write a rec for me … even though I did get a C that first semester in her class (AP Calc).
[ *] Counselor Rec: No idea…
[ *] Additional Rec: From a teacher that knew someone that knew me personally. She was the one that helped me through problems in life, etc. I read it, and it was very much more personal based than school, so that was nice.
[ *] Interview: Went well I believe. The interviewer told me that she liked me! I was just myself though, told her I wanted to ride dragons when I grew up as a joke. Haha… ha.

[ /list][ b]Other[ /b][ list]
[ *] Applied for Financial Aid?: Yea
[ *] Intended Major: Neuroscience
[ *] State (if domestic applicant): New Mexico
[ *] School Type: Public
[ *] Ethnicity: Asian
[ *] Gender: Female
[ *] Income Bracket: 100k - 125k
[ *] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Nope

[ /list][ b]Reflection[ /b][ list]
[ *] Strengths: Essays, teacher recs, leadership material
[ *] Weaknesses: grades and test scores
[ *] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Ahh, I’d say the major reason was because of what I went through in life. I basically let the college know every inch of me possible, the way I thought, my philosophies, how I wanted to become a street musician when I grew up just so I can experience a whole new life. There were definitely some negative aspects that I let slide in there (my depression, my gaming addiction (har har League of Legends LOL)), but I nevertheless mentioned how they impacted me in way that pushed me to grow as strong as a tree! I have a strange perception on life, and I feel like that might have been what helped me… but really, who can really know for sure? (;
[ /list][ b]General Comments:[ /b]
I feel like there’s a lot more things that went into my application that I actually haven’t mentioned. so if you’re interested feel free to private message me. (: This was definitely either my 1st or 2nd choice college though, so I’m extremely happy that I was accepted.

Any ideas as to when Ohio might receive their letters?

And are they sending out all letters now?

Thanks in advance.

gallivanter,

Everyone should have a decision in their hands by April 1st. If you haven’t received your decision letter by that point you can always give the office a call!

I know that another large batch of admit / waitlist / deny letters will go out next week. Unfortunately the volume of regular decision letters is too large to send every single letter out at once. We are doing our best to send out decision letters as quickly as possible. Please hang tight until April 1st at the latest!

Best,

Tyler

TSocash, when will the 2012 application stats be revealed?
i.e. how many applications received, how many accepted, average stats of those accepted, etc.

Tyler,

Thanks for the reply. I was actually asking for my son, and now I can tell him not to wait by the mailbox. :)

Seriously though, he is very anxious, especially since I think Rochester is his first choice even ahead of Cornell. I just wish I had found this forum earlier. Thanks for all your posts here; very helpful and informative.

Nothing is a complete indicator of intelligence or capacity. Nobody even agrees on what those terms mean- so causation is pretty difficult to prove.

Pencilsandpens94 - How disappointing. I am so sorry. Hang in there.

What is deciding who has already heard? Is is alphabetical?

^^Nope, usually it’s pretty random with acceptances, rejections and waitlists all going out in each wave of mailings. Please don’t read anything into not hearing in the first/earlier wave of RD letters.

Any acceptances in cali?

I’m from Cali, but I haven’t heard any news yet. But I did randomly see someone from Cali post about their RD acceptance online, including a picture of the letter.

REALLLLLY. Oh man, I am nervous

Me too Ahhhhh!

What about international applicants?

Yea, do they send email to people living outside of the US?
