no its syndicate crime, remember Al Capone?

i know but i dont think they repealed it solely because of organized crime. It was repealed because too many people continued to drink...it was a toss up for me between the two.

syndicated crime was present, but wouldnt have been there at all without the demand for alcohol- hence cultural behavior. Lots of the illegal behavior from that period was dramaticized in mob movies, but the majority of illegal behavior happend on less glamourous terms because of the culture

Yeah, I do, I put conflicting behavior and law though. I mean, both are techinically "right" but what's better? I just felt like isolated crime and bootlegging alone aren't enough to repeal an amendment, you know? It's too circumstantial.

No, I think it was culture for that. Crime was one of the reasons, but the main reason is that they tried to legislate against something most of the population participated in.

my review book says crime... but i can see it both ways.

Anyone know what the curve on something like this is?

Crime? Really? Which review book...it just, I don't know, fundamentally doesn't click in my mind. Hey, I could be totally wrong.

Its the Amsco book, but looking at it, it doesnt really say anything either way. It gives both Crime and Public discontent as reasons for the repeal. I read it wrong at first.

don't think its crime

Anyone have any idea what the curve will look like?

800
800
800
800

I'm going to list a bunch of quesitons now:

common sense : independence? (i remember another one that looked right)

during mexican revolution: closed borders to mexicans?

nativisim for something

monroe: no competition btwn political parties

not in new deal: either ending segregation in facilities or a strong movement in labor ( i put ending segregation, becaus ei think he helped labor a bit, but not the blacks too much)

CCC for ecological stuff

Hmm, I am having trouble remembering these questions. I remember going back through and counting 28 that I was not entirely sure on.

Who was popular sovereignty from? I put Henry Clay.

What was first continental congress for? I put to discuss independence.

What was the multiple answer one about unions. I put that they teamed up with others, had disputes, but not the last one, so I and II.

What was the Mexican Revolution question? I put 1,2,3. Everything but declaring war. It was a complete guess though.

What was the common theme from the 3 progressive movements? I put transcendentalism, because I remember talking about it in English class. Not sure though.

What president talked about "the war and women"? I put Wilson.

Any help on those? I will ask more later if I remember them.
