Official USC 2013 Transfer Thread

It says the same thing for me as well. When I called Admissions in regards to the delay in processing my high school transcript, they seemed to indicate that USConnect does not always reflect the current status of the application process internally. I will chalk it up to that - especially considering the high volume of applications they undoubtedly must sort through. I’m not stressed about it.

Yo Rex, I see USC still has application material from Fall 2012, including old personal statements, letters of rec, etc. Do you know if adcoms will dig that stuff up?

@basketballer123 thank you it worked now. I tried it before and it would just say “password request failed” but now it’s working thanks so much :)

For those of you wondering: your status on USConnect doesn’t necessarily reflect the true status of your application and documents. The system takes a tediously long time to update your USConnect. If you’re too worried, call them and ask to see if they received your document. When they say yes, your document is there, regardless of what USConnect says. The person on the phone (and the repeating message before they pick up the phone) confirm that for you.

Seth, I believe they want a fresh set of documents anyway, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. I know the admissions director of the SCA (I forget her name all of a sudden) pulled some strings for me last year and pulled up one of my old letters of rec for my application file. Maybe if you call them and ask to speak to her, she should be able to help you.

@uscco2016 I have the same message.

should i request a new password on usc connect? i didn’t get any email yet…i have my old account from last year but it doesn’t have any info on it…

@silverrex @ronaldot

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the advice!!!

The status message now reflects the fact that they have processed all the material, and are no longer asking for any more. It says pretty much, “Sit tight, you’ll know by May hopefully. June at the latest.”

For those of you worrying about missing documents, I sent in my high school transcript on January 17th and it should have arrived around January 20-23. I just checked my USConnect Admission Documents TODAY and it finally says it has been received. :)

Can i have a good chance at attending USC as a transfer? In high school i graduated with a 2.14 GPA and i was in the newspaper club, camera club. Now i attend a community college with a 4.2 GPA and my sat score was 2230 im in honor association club, Phi Theta Kappa and vet tech club. I also do basketball, softball and tennis. Any advice?

My advice is that I hope they see your application after they see mine! I’m jelly.

Mine has still not updated and I sent my information in around mid Jan.

I requested for my school to send my college transcript to USC at the beginning of January, yet USConnect still says they don’t have it. They have my high school transcript (which I sent much later), etc. I guess I’ll call tomorrow to make sure…

Chances are they have it. I sent my high school and college transcript out the same day, but the former was processed almost two weeks after the latter.

Just curious: did y’all mail these through the mail when you sent them?

@tomred The only document I had mailed was my high school transcript.

@RandomNewGuy, you were right! I checked this morning before calling, and USConnect listed that they had everything. I feel better now, haha. :)

@tomred: My HS transcript and college transcript were mailed.

Did anyone else get an email saying that they needed to submit their own and their parents federal tax information form? I thought that was weird since tax returns aren’t due until april i think

Yeah, I received an e-mail asking me to send my income returns (at age 29, I am a total dependent!). Just shot it over since I filed electronically on the 27th. Was trying to figure out whether that was a good sign or not. Since it appears it went out as a mass e-mail, it appears to be just that - nothing special.

I just received the same e-mail… Very confused on what to do. Help!! Lol
