Congrats to everyone who has been accepted so far!
New poster here–I literally created this account just to post this haha!
I’m an applicant from California who applied by the December 1 deadline just like most of you here and was quite disheartened to come home today and not have any letter in the mail from USC. One of my friends got her acceptance on Saturday, and has similar stats to me, so needless to say I started to get a bit worried! I decided to give the admissions office a call, and got some positive news so I thought i would pass it along.
The admissions officer said that presidential and trustee (full and half tuition scholarships, I believe) have been mailed out, but not all letters and scholarship offers have been mailed at this point. She said everyone receiving a scholarship will be notified by April 1, but also said that it is still definitely possible that people will be getting more mail throughout the week and on, as not everything has been mailed yet. She said around half (or not even half) of all the scholarships have been mailed out, so don’t lose hope! Hope others find this a bit comforting like I did!
Good luck to everyone!
@eeastcoastgirlll what program? CONGRATZ btw
@couplemoreweeks There is no correlation between USC merit scholarship recipients and Ivy League/top school admits
https://www.usps.com/manage/ you can check here if there are usps packages being mailed to your house. can somebody that got in check this and let everybody know if it works for the usc packets or not?
I was so happy that when my wife called me that my son was a candidate for the Presidential Scholars.
I then realized that it’s not from USC, but United States Department of Education.
They claimed that approximately 3,900 out of 3.2 million high school seniors were invited.
Is this even a big deal?
I think what admissions is saying is they haven’t mailed out the smaller scholarships that come with admissions in March. They are not saying they have more to mail from this batch. This batch is done, the early scholarships all go out at once (as per their article). They don’t trickle out this week. Nice of you to post @ibther4iam, but I think you misunderstood. If you don’t receive by tomorrow for sure, put a fork in it, it’s done for now. (Except for those few weird slow mail situations.)
Has anyone in Texas received a scholarship package?
Haha dude, I saw that exact same thing on Saturday from usps that no packages were being shipped to my house. I thought the same thing that you did, but still ended up getting accepted with an invite for the Presidential scholarship today. The package comes in the regular mail so that’s probably why it doesn’t register as a special package.
My point is: It doesn’t mean anything. Don’t worry.
has anyone been accepted to Marshall School of Business? all the stats I’m seeing are for vertibi and dornsife
Did anyone from NJ receive any package yet?
@lovely9775935 same. I’m looking for SCA. I’m optimistic that it means that no one has received theirs yet, but I know there are kids who don’t use this site. Still, I’m trying to stay positive.
Thank you @FriendlyNerd888 !
@itsdomoo thanks!! & undecided college of arts and science pre-med track
@blueskies2day i completely understand that. Perhaps I may have misunderstood partially, but the admissions woman did say that they are still mailing more out this week, so I guess now I’m just super confused!!
Nevertheless, do you happen to know if they notify you that you won’t be receiving a scholarship or anything of that sort, or do we just wait it out until March?
@Jay2631
From what I recall, several pages ago, someone from NJ said they got their package.
Has anyone in Washington State gotten theirs? I’m nervous as hell because we’re pretty close to California and I haven’t got anything, I’m praying soo hard right now
@jay2631 yeahh i did
@FriendlyNerd888 Thank you!
@ibther4iam
Thank you for posting this. Did you understand it to mean that they were still mailing out presidential/trustee scholarships or Dean scholarships? Because in terms of other scholarships being emailed through april 1, i think they mean the National Merit ones.
