I’m a NMF and received the email…do other NMF receive their decisions now or are they all pushed back to RD?
@happydolphin This seems to be a misconception among most NMFs on this thread but being an NMF has nothing to do with the scholarships gifted this time. Yes if admitted you do get half tuition BUT the updates going out now has nothing to do with being an NMF. These scholarships (to those who are admitted right now) and the email updates are ONLY given to those who applied by the December 1st scholarship deadline.
Ok…so a NMF can be given presidential scholarship at this time (separate from the NMF presidential)?
@ackack I’m kinda nervous because my semester just ended on the 23rd, and grades don’t come out until February. !!! I hope that doesn’t cause a problem…

@happydolphin if you got the e-mail saying that you aren’t receiving a scholarship, unfortunately you won’t receive a presidential scholarship. However, if you get admitted in the spring, you will get half off your tuition as a result of being a NMF (which is the same amount as the presidential). You just won’t get a scholarship under the name of Presidential, you’ll just be a National Merit Finalist who received half tuition. Does that make sense?

@mellyjune @stahboy I wish you well. Am bummed when I read results threads because my stats were 2330 SAT, top 5% GPA (4.57 weighted, 10 APs). Such is life.
Hi – looking for advice. I was admitted and am a finalist for one of the full-tuition scholarships. I did not sign up for my student portal account until yesterday (I know-- stupid) and because you have to sign up for the visit days in February through the student portal, I am nervous that the spots will be filled up soon. Should I call or continue waiting for the you.usc.edu confirmation email? Is it possible I won’t be considered for the full tuition scholarship if I don’t sign up soon enough? It says in the packet the visit days are only limited to 175 people and I don’t want to miss out on the opportunity!

Hey! I have a question… I can’t access my snail mail because I’m international student, so even if they have sent a scholarship packet, I have not received it… are scholarship winners also receiving emails at this point, or only those who have not been selected? Thank you!!

@stahboy do you think that since we got no notification of any sort, we didn’t receive a scholarship?
