*Official USNEWS top 50 College Predictions*

Oh and btw, go on Google News, it has been confirmed she is going to go to Brown

Some of the people early in this thread said Pton will go back to #1. Honestly, I think that is quite unlikely.

This is the first year USNWR will be affected by Pton’s decision to drop ED. Since then, in the past couple of years Princeton’s yield has dropped and admissions rate has gone up.

As far as top 4 go, I believe that Harvard as #1, Yale # 2, Princeton #2 or Harvard #1, Yale #1, Princeton #3 is far more likely. Stanford could crack top 3, but their SAT rate is still low enough that I don’t think they’ll be able to do it yet.

Berkeley should move up. It’s acceptance rate is lower than that of Vanderbilt, ND, Emory, Rice, JHU, and Northwestern. As for HYPS they should stay in that order.

When do the rankings come out again?

In ~a month on Aug 17th?

IMO Berkeley and University of Michigan should definitely go up. Both Berkeley and Michigan have good academics across the range, and are well known in just about every department, where as other schools such as Georgetown doesn’t even have an engineering department.(not that Gtown is a bad school) Michigan and Berkeley’s rankings are so high I think mainly due to the fact that they are public institutions. NYU I think is in adequate place right now, maybe move up a spot or two. Also Stanford should move up to number 3 spot.

Regardless of USNWR ranking of 2009-2010 colleges you should be happy that you are in school. There are millions of newly graduated students without a job, wishing they were back in school.

didn’t the New York Times confirm she was going to Columbia?

they were simply speculating. she’s going to brown

Next up on collegeconfidnetial: The official cheesiest pickup lines Emma Watson will hear from guys in her first month of college that don’t involve the words “magic wand” thread.

Ok, I’ll start: “What can Brown and I do for you?”

Emma Watson? Never heard of her. Must be a geek thing.

^dude, are you being sarcastic or something???

Anyways. I hope Georgetown, nyu, tufts and Berkeley go up.

I would love for Emory, vanderbilt, and USC to tank but that’s just my opinion. I’m not sure in reality if any of them deserve to go up or down.

:)

I am assuming a lot of kids on here are nerds who don’t have gf’s or have never kissed a girl, so they think Emma Watson is really “all that.” Not to brag but I have seen and been with better. She is nothing to worry about. ;)

Anyway, does anyone know when the rankings will come out…exactly??

i can’t believe so many of you are talking about emma watson. i don’t even think it’s that impressive for a celebrity to go to an ivy league school. i’m sure she’s smart, but the fact that she’s a celebrity definitely allows her to go wherever she wants. plus the fact that she’s gonna go to brown is just going to make brown students more pretentious and elitist like all the other ivy league students.

as for predictions, i really do believe that the economy will affect a lot of public school rankings. I’m not really too sure how it’s going to affect private universities, but I know that a lot of public schools will be forced to make large budget cuts in order to save money. It’s unfortunate because it’s not really a public university’s fault, but i guess it’s just the way it is.

I also think it’s stupid to debate who will be number 1. it’s going to be either yale, princeton, or harvard. every year it switches and all three schools have taken the top spot at some point. everyone knows that those three schools are the top three, so it doesn’t matter which one is on top. I also do not see NYU jumping up 5-10 spots. Very rarely does a school climb up by that much. I think the only school that i can recall to make that type of jump was USC a few years back, when it jumped up 7 spots from 42 to 35.

^ditto.
but seriously, who cares that much about rankings? it should mostly be about how good fit a school is for you, right

Going back to the whole thing about Ms Emma Watson…this should end all speculation.
